Freaking out over commercial.....

Some of you may have been aware of this and some not. I just saw a commercial with Bea Arthur speaking for PETA. It was concerning the horrific treatment (with pictures) of Kentucky Fried Chicken's abusive practices of the chickens.

I was absolutely mortified watching this 20-30 second commercial. I literally thought that it was going to be a joke (although in bad taste) and kept waiting for the punchline. It was running on Animal Planet. Even after the commercial was over I continued to wait for the punchline, even double checked the channel to see if I was watching one of the video music channels "punked-type" shows.

It did list a websight, which I finally got the nerve to check out. No KFC for this family EVER again. If anyone is interested (and if this is allowed here???) it is kfccruelty.com If it is against BW rules, I apologize. I can't even believe that I worked for this company as a teenager.....

Please, please keep in mind that PETA is an extremist group with links to terrorists. I applaud you for taking a stand against something you believe is wrong, but anything PETA puts out through media channels should be taken with a (big) grain of salt. Just MHO.

Farley is right, when it comes to Peta they like to streatch the truth. The thing with KFC was in the news a while ago and it turns out that they are not doing anything wrong.

Fox News:
The U.S. Department of Agriculture sets the standards for animal welfare. There are no reports of KFC violating any laws and regulations concerning animal welfare. And there are certainly no reports of Federal Trade Commission or state consumer fraud action against KFC concerning its statements about the treatment of chickens.

I am all for the right treatment of animals but Peta takes it to the extream. They like to do things like yell at women who are wearing fur that they are murders and killers. And they do this in front of their children. They have even went as far as giving very graphic pamplets to kids showing a cute bunny on the outside and then one skined and gutted on the inside saying things like your mommy did this, becareful your pet might be next.

That is just to list a few things. I am trying to keep this short. Peta is a HUGE pet peeve for me. Basicly like Farley said, take it with a grain of salt.
