I don't know what the exact address is, but it is on the premesis of the Franklin (Williamson County) Animal Control. Near the corner of Mack Hatcher and Hillsboro Road. Hope that helps. :)

Thanks, I did a search and found the address. If anyone needs to know it's 138 Claude Yates Dr., Franklin.

Just wondering, but have any of you guys from the Nashville area ever been to Shelby Dog Park? It's probably too far away for those of you that live in Franklin. I live in Hermitage and it's closer to me than Maggie's is. Actually it's much bigger than Maggie's and it's all grass with a water fountain in the middle (like the ones humans drink from just lower to the ground) so that the dogs and humans aren't covered in mud when they leave. Anyway, we've been to Maggie's and it's fun too but I just thought I'd throw the idea out there in case anyone wanted to visit someplace new. Also, I heard that there are going to be two new dog parks put in Nashville sometime in the near future.

Gruntwiggles-I think I have heard of it, where is it located exactly?? I would be open to boxer playtime anywhere!! :)

It's in East Nashville. I hope this helps. Here are some directions that I took from a dog park directory website:
"A two-acre, fenced, off-leash area. The dog park is located behind Shelby Community Center on 20th Street in East Nashville. Directions: I-65 to Shelby Street, turn away from the stadium, drive about two miles to 20th Street, turn left, park at the community center. Park is behind the community center."

I'm open to either place. We don't have a dog park around here, so my babies have never had the experience. We've met up with another local BW member and our dogs have played, but it wasn't at a dog park. Are there special things I would need to bring for them?

K8IE & anyone who wants to meet tomorrow (6-4-05): I went by Maggie's at lunch, and it looks fine. It doesn't really look muddy at all. Greta & I will be there at 11!

GruntWiggles: I haven't heard of the other dog park, but I definitely wouldn't mind going. It sounds like it's down by the Titans stadium? I'm not familiar with that area but I'm sure with your directions I'd get there ok! :) Is that area all good? I'd like to check it out!

gtntuf: You may want to bring your own water bowl. There are a bunch of water bowls at Maggie's but they are community and they can be kind of gross. Plenty of water is available, but I wouldn't suggest using the water bowls there. Another thing to bring is treats! Just in case it is muddy, I'd plan on wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and a good towel to dry the dog(s) off with. There's a hose out there so you can wash them off if they get nasty. They have bags for poop, as well as pooper-scoopers to pick it up with, if someone has an accident! :) Greta usually gets so excited she'll just run over and drop it off at the fence!!! They have some toys there, but they're pretty used. You could bring a neutral toy (if there is such a thing!) that all the dogs could play with. Like frisbees or something. They have somewhat of an agility course - tunnels and a up-and-over run (that's the only way I know to describe it! - shaped like the roof of a house). There's also a smaller fenced-in area for small dogs if you want to bring them & are not ok with them being around the bigger dogs.
