He kinda trys to get away from me. He is still eating and his fever hasnt came back at all. But boy is he a big old BABY....
When the girls(DOGS) wont pay him any mind he howls and makes a big fuss untill someone plays with him. Very cute. Anyways thank you all for keeping up with us. I really do Thank ya!! DOZER does to.

Hey, I just saw your post. We went throught the same thing with Buford when he was 4-5 months old. He could not walk, we carried him in/out to potty all day long. He lost a lot of weight and I had to hand feed him for a couple of weeks. He was in and out of the emergency vet every weekend it seemed. He cried in pain all the time. He was on Deramaxx for the pain and it worked really well for him. You have to be careful because with HOD comes a weakend immune system. Don't take him to the dog park until he's completely well because it's really easy for him to pick up illnesses from other dogs. Buford ended up getting a digestive tract infection along with the HOD (another trip back to the E-Vet). Pneumonia is also common in puppies with HOD. It took a few months before he was back to normal, but now he's a big beautiful strapping 90lbs! This site is a great resource, keep us posted and I'm glad to hear that he's doing better! If you do a search of the full name of the disease, my old thread will come up.

also - be careful letting him do too much, (going up the stairs) - although it's wonderful to see them acting like their "old" selves, you have to keep him subdued as too much action too soon will irritate the fractures and cause his joints to swell back up.

So sorry you had to go through it to

I so know about not leting him do anything. I cant see him geting worse cause I let him play. I though I did it to him the last time he was full of energy and I let him play than Back to the vet we went!!! I haven't been leting him do alot. The vet said to let him walk if he wants to but only in short times. Cause he lots all his mussel mass. And know we have to work them. We a gonna take him to get a HYDRO-BATH.So he can swim. They did I at the vet to. Well I'll keep you posted!! THANKS GUYS FOR ALL YOUR SUPORT!!!
