I walk Cassius every evening, we go down to the mailbox, and around the neighborhood. He just loves his walk. I was wondering how many of you take a walk, and if so is it everyday/night, and how far/long? And, do you encounter other dogs? We see about 5 different dogs on our walk, Cassius handles it like a gentleman :0 That's my boy.

I try to walk my two at least 3 times a week...its hard on them this time of year because it seems to be either unbearably hot and humid, or raining, so they prefer to stick close to home during the day and just play in the yard. Usually right before dusk I take them for a walk around the neighborhood...they love the attention they get from the neighbors, and the exercise does me good too ;)

We live on 2 acres so walking is not a must for physical exercise. But I do however think that it's good mental exercise for them. I was trying to take Tessa out for a 30 minute walk every evening. I have recently decided to stop for the time being due to some behavior issues (mainly excusive barking at other dogs, but that's another story). I've gone back to obedience training 101 so instead of walks right now I take her out in our back field and do training work for about 30 minutes followed by either a good tug-o-war game or some fetch. When we were walking we usually ended up walking with a Grate Dane in the neighborhood named Oliver. Such a sweetie!

We also live in the city, so walking Mason is my exercise and social life! We walk to the dog park in the morning where he has his morning 'pack' of buddies to play with. After about an hour, we walk home and I go to work. He goes out with the dog walker and his lunchtime 'pack' and then in the evening, we walk to another dog park for his play with the evening 'pack'. We are there for an hour to an hour and a half before we walk home. Needless to say, everywhere we go, Mason is well known and Mr. Sociable and also needless to say, not much gets done during the week (I need to figure how to teach Mason to vaccuum and dust so I'm not always trying to catch up on housework at the weekend!!).

We walk every morning, sun rain or snow! We usually go for a one mile (ish) walk. pretty brisk walk takes about 15 minutes and the pups are pretty thirsty when we get home so we very rarely go longer.

If I walk both pups at the same time, we usually just work on "heel" "no pull" "thats a puppy, leave it". But, if I go one on one, we work on all sorts of training. We practice sit, wait, turns, change directions, walking at different speeds. I constantly keep Evie waiting for me to do something else. Adam is still working on most commands, but is doing better.

The pups wont let me forget about their morning walks!

Bike, makes it easy.

What I do is, Get my retractable leash, and my bike open my garage and Crown takes off running full speed for about 1 min(I hope he’s going full speed because I have a hard time keeping up). Crown surprises me how fast he can run. I walk my dogs about a mile at there individual paces. Crown does the burst of speed and then walks, and Pepper ( Staffd Shire Terrier) he's slower, but has more stamina, constantly runs the entire way. I don’t force them run or walk, because I’m on the bike it makes me no difference, if he stop I’ll stop. I walk them every other day, since I have a big back yard.

We live in the city and I would bike, run, blade and walk. Biking being the most favorite and walking being the least favorite of Dakota's. We would put on her harness and off we would go, she would literally pull me and my husband - although we rarely did it as we never got any exercise that way. Once in awhile I would take her to an enclosed outdoor skating rink and let her off leash. She would burn around that rink, it was soo funny to watch. Blading was an adventure, especially if she caught sight of a rabbit. I had to be totally alert to make sure I could stop real quickly to prevent her from taking me for a ride.

Our guys always get an evening walk when we get home and occasional other ones too. Most often they go to the dog park at night and just run!! we meet other dogs and they play.

Lion1993 please be careful on your bike, my friend used to do that until one morning blue her dog saw a squrriel and turned back and she went right over the handle bars and suffered a concussion.

Scrapper loves his walks! We generally go around the neighborhood, about a mile and a half and it takes about a half hour, with him stopping and sprinkling the bushes and trees along the way. It's gotten so he starts to get excited when he sees me get the poop bags out. Then he knows we're going for a walk! Yay!

I am on a short leash!

Since I am almost nine month's pregnant and have a 2 year old boy! Dozer does get his excercise but it is usually from my husband! We take him right across the road where there is a leash free zone and he has lot's of buddies that he likes to try to "box" with! but right now we are waiting to get him Up to date on his puppy shot's! Other than that we let him run out there for at least 2 hours a day to make sure he run's off his puppy energy  and get's himself plenty of excersice! He just loves the other dog's but they are a no no right now!

Plus he was only 6 week's old when we got him so it is good for socialization too!
