No One Has Had MOre Crap than Saddam!!!!
okay everybody, what do you think of the name Saddam??? When I first talked about Saddam on boxerworld, everybody was horrified that I would name a dog such a terrible name. How could you name a beautiful animal such an awful name??? they would say. Well, Saddam's name fits him, and here is how he got it
Two years ago I went to pick out a boxer puppy. The one I was to buy was named Rocky, he was a beautiful fawn with great markings. While I was looking at the puppies, a defiant little fat guy kept following me around. He was lighter than Rocky, but very independent from the other puppies. He even went out to poop far away from the other dogs. Well, he picked me, so I ended up with two puppies, one named Rocky, the other, Tubby.
Well, Tubby was a little stinker, and very defiant of my husband. When scolded, he would stick his chest way out, and sit there and stare down my husband. And, not listen to a word my husband said. My husband raised chickens, and Tubby decided they were toys to tear up. I would come home from work, and find Tubby with a bloodied body of a chicken, wings torn off, and mutilated. I was horrified that he would do such a thing, and started to call him little Saddam. Well, little Saddam killed alot of birds that year, so many that we ended up selling the rest. And, Saddam loved his new name. My husband would call him Tubby, but he did not want that name. He wanted to be called Saddam, a fitting name for a little tough guy who thought he could conquer the world. The name stuck, but many people find it awful. If they only knew the rest of the story. . .
Saddam is now the sweetest animal around. He loves to fetch, steal food from the table, and loves to instigate things. He will curl up with me in the armchair, all 85 lbs of him, and want to be a lap dog. I do not ever regret getting Saddam, in fact, he makes life exciting, and is the best buddy to his brother Rocky!!!
And, so if his name raises some eyebrows... it is his name and we are keeping it!!!!!
