Try searching the word "pimples" - I think I just read about this on another board this week.
Have a good weekend

Baxter has one right now. Last year at about the same time he also had one. I might have thought then it was from his dog food or plastic water jug but almost exactly one year to date he got another. My guess is with him it might be a spring alergy reaction. He is on an antibiotic for about two weeks... last year it cleared up and didn't return until now!

In the books that I have read on boxers, they all say that it is very common for boxers to get acne, especially on their chin. It isn't necessarily an allergic recation. From what I understand many boxers experience acne during their adolescent years, and usually goes away. Just like humans experience acne during their teen years. This really shouldn't be really anything to worry about, unless you think it is getting out of hand.

Hi there

I remember a GS who always had a problem with pimples and infections under his chin. They found out it was caused by the carpet, a cheap polyester one ( or similar) . They replaced it and the problem was gone . It was not an allergy , but caused by some hard and sharp fibres in the carpet.

Greetings from downunder

Pimples

Hi Rene:
My boxer Jerry has the same problem . He began rubbing his face on the carpet , and his face looked so red and sore. W found out it was allergies so we also we also changed his bowls, his food to rice and lamb, bought vitamin E pills for him, and benedryl. (he was also chewing his paws) I am glad to say he is doing much better. I hope you also have good luck!

Try washing his chin after he eats. If just washing doesn't help, try using antibacterial soap.

Canine Acne

What a great bunch of Boxer parents! All those answers took me weeks to learn from forums, Vet, etc. Yes, it's a combo of those things, or can just be 'those teen age years' kicking in. Dempsey also has acne, it comes and goes, seems to respond to mild 'Phisoderm' wash every so often. Raging hormones! We live in Vt. and Dempsey likes to chew on maple sticks he finds, you should see the hives he gets. These dogs are too much.

Brandi doesn`t get them much, Caesar gets them more, my vet told me the same thing about hormones etc. He told me alot of times they out grow it just like people, but sometimes just like people they will have them on and off all their life. My past female had it all the time and I never could seem to get rid of them completely. He recommended using a benzol peroxide wash like Oxcy 10 wash, you can even use the lotion sparingly(as its drying) afterwards. It seems to work great for Caesar, too bad I didn`t know about it for Dutch. :(
