Harley has just started lifting his leg at trees and lamp posts when out on a walk.

Although at home when he goes out back for relief, he still squats.

Harley is 16 months and really only starting lifting his leg about 1 month ago. It was quite a moment when he did it.

Suppose he is growing up now.

Diesel is 11 months and has never lifted his leg.

i think i will have a party for bruno when he finally does . am i the only crazy guy that wants to have his dogs raise his leg?!?!?!

Lou always lifts his leg... in this yoga (dancer pose) kind of way... he likes to pee on trees. He's three... but I didn't neuter him until he was almost a year so he still "marks" his territory. It's actually kind of good, because he's run away a few times, but he always finds his way back because he had to piss on everything on the way.

I don't know if it's true but I heard you get less "burnt" spots on your lawn with a lifter.

Sam is 15 months and still squats. I hope he never learns to lift his leg because our other dog is always peeing on my plants and flowers and they die.

Leg lifting..

Duke started lifting his leg (not consistently) and marking his territory at 9mths...he's 10 mths now and we just got him fixed about 3 days ago...I'll keep you posted whether he continues lifting his leg. Also, I noticed he did this "leg lifting" when we were away from home.

No I'm in the same boat. It's not like it's a big deal, but I think I'll feel like my little boy will become a man -- err, make that a dog -- when he lifts his leg.

Koda is 12 months and squats/lifts about equally. If he's lazy or in a hurry, he'll do a quicky squat. If he's trying to mark or whatever, he'll lift. He starting lifting around 6 months, I don't know where he learned it, because he'd hardly ever been around other boy dogs.

my parents buddy goes out he is 9 months he has started marking territory but he squats to do so he will go to the tree kinda bend around it and then go then he will run to the other trees and do the same thing one big circle so he is marking hes just not a lifter. and when i see this i call him my little girly boy and he just looks at me like he wants to kill me,
