Hello Does your Boxer still squat when having a pee instead of lifting legs upnif so what age are they

Yes Hogan stil squats most of the time. He is 17 months old today. He lifts his leg sometimes though like when we are at PetsMart. Hilda (our female 7 year old rescue) taught him how to lift his leg. She does all the time. It's so funny!

Spirit is 13months and still squats most of the time. Funny you should post this question today because this morning when Spirit went out for his potty break, he immediately lifted his leg! I watched him and thought "awwww, my little boy is trying to be a man"! :p

Kosmo is 13 months old and has never even attempted to lift his leg.
Maybe if he spends more time at doggie day care he will learn from the other guys

6 months--and squatting. Although he has kind of lifted his leg a few times, not sure if it was by accident or what.

Gus still squats to pee, he's only 6 months old. Sometimes, if he pees for awhile, he'll lift his leg near the end even though we're in the middle of the yard and he's not peeing on anything but grass I've heard that if you get them fixed before they start marking territory they will never mark territory. We have a male labrador that we got fixed before he started marking territory and he still squats to pee (he's 21 months).

Peanut at 13 months still squats. My neighbor says his boxer didn't lift his leg until 18 months.

At 5 years...Ikaika still squats. It's not all the time. Just when he is acting like a little bitty puppy.

Don't know if it's true, but I heard somewhere that if you neuter them before they start lifting their leg consistently, then they will usually stop lifting. I had a neutered basset who never lifted and an unneutered english bull who lifted every time.
