Not a good day. Appears to be spiraling down again. So weak and in so much discomfort. It hurts to watch this but the doctors keep saying that they think it might be a bad bacterial infection. I'm not so sure.

I'm sorry to hear this wasn't a good day. It must be so hard to go through this, not knowing what's really wrong. If the doctors keep saying that they think it might be a terribly bad bacterial infection, perhaps they're right. I am sending my most positive thoughts and prayers that Sable pulls through this.

Today they said if we make the decision to euthanize they understand and agree. She is not getting better and they cannot figure out what is wrong. She is slowly getting worse. It is just so confusing because the only lab work that is abnormal is a slightly low lymphocyte count. Everything else is normal. Yet it still is acting like cancer. Her body is just wasting away.

I am so sorry that she doesn't seem to be getting any better. I know you desperately want her too recover. It must be so frustrating that the vets can't figure out what is wrong. :(

Sending more healing vibes your way! ---------->>>>

I'm so sorry she's not getting better. By any chance have they done any autoimmune testing? I did a lot of research after what happened with my Tyson and came to realize that he most likely had an autoimmune disease, possibly systemic lupus. It seems that with all the normal testing and even though I kept saying there was something else after what was found and corrected no one thought about an autoimmune issue. I did consult with a holistic vet after and came to this after someone told me about the possibility, but it really sucks knowing and wondering after. I was told that they just don't think about the possibility of autoimmunne and that may be true as specialists and multiple vets said nothing showed yet he was sick off and on.

I really hope things turn around and they can find a way to help her, sending you guys prayers and hugs.

I know that they thought that it may be Addisons at one time....did they rule that out? My dog just dog died from an immune mediated disease and it did not get diagnosed until the day we had to put her down. Packblt is right...... Vets in the US typically do not know a lot about these diseases and there are a handful of them. I joined a support group in the UK and that has given a ton of info on these diseases. Please bring this up to your vet. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your girl.

They did a cortisol level. It was normal

That was their autoimmune test.

She seems to be making forward progress. We are afraid to breathe. Every time she starts to look better she back slides. So far we are at 24 hours of improvement. Still waking like a cripple. She cannot put her head down to eat or drink. She screams when you pick her up. But her appetite is improving. She will drink some. She is peeing and pooping. Soft but formed. She is walking around the house. She will gingerly walk down the two deck steps but she wants to do it rather than be picked up. She will climb onto the couch from time to time and she is giving kisses. She has barely had the energy to give one or two kisses laying down. I have had several tongue baths today. And I think she barked once at the sitter today when she came to the door. Although my husband and the sitter think it was Woody. I swear I saw her mouth move as I walked towards the door. She is walking to the food bowls when she hears Woody getting fed. And she will stand on the kitchen if I am cooking. We are taking it day by day. Thanks again to everyone for the prayers. They are working.
