Boxer Traits

hillarious!!

I was raised with 2 flashy brindle boxers (Beau and his mom Mya) both with HUGE personality differences. Mya is really relaxed and just lounges around the fireplace. Our other dog, Beau is a 113 pound BRUTE that LOVES ropes. You can not get him to leave any rope alone!!

I now have my own Fawn Bell. Bell is defenitely the ruler of my house. Everyday is full of more surprises. Bell is the "typical" boxer in that she: snores, farts, sighs, frowns, head-tilts, sticks her tongue out at me, does body shakes from head-to-tail, jumps a mile-high for no apparent reason, runs around like a mad-woman, chases anything that moves (squirrels, leaves, my FEET), and she LOVES sleeping over the furnace ducts when the warm air is coming out. She is the love of my life. She follows me around like a shadow. If she isn't touching me, she isn't happy. She is my "54 pound lap dog". She has a doggie bed next to my bed, but insists on sleeping under the covers between my legs. She also LOVES to swim and is an awesome retriever. My finacee is a duck hunter and says that he is going to get her to be the first-ever duck retrieving boxer! Some people tell me that "she can't be a boxer because boxer's don't like water"....try to tell her that!! She also loves kayaking with me. She sits right between my legs!

I just love reading about all of the cute things that our beloved dogs do. Boxers are unquestionably the BEST dogs in the WORLD!!

Tiger's Mom

Boxer Pal
All of the above

Tiger got his name initally from his Grand-Father. Middle name being "Tiger".
One of his traits which makes his name fit him to a "T" is that he "crouches" and walks very slowly low to the ground just like a Tiger ready to pounce on his prey that being "ME". He is the funniest thing and has brought more joy to me and my family than he will ever know.!!! WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH !!!
Does anyone else have a baby that's does this??

I agree to all. My Satchmo is the busiest, laziest (person) I know. When he's busy, he's into devilment. But when he's lazy, well what more can be said? Yet, at the times I need it, those eyes get so soft and puppy-like again, and that body just scoots up so close as if the healing touch only comes through FULL body contact.

Tween the legs~Cat manoeuver

Ditto on the others. Seems the males must tend more toward the gas/snort/snore/dead bug posture. More I will not comment :) My male Dudel makes wookie sounds...I'd be willing to swear that's where Star Wars got the model! Female sings with husband's flute.

Female Babe does the kitty cat between the legs behavior. Almost seems the result of training not to jump...she rubs when she cant jump to greet me.

All for now. 75 pound Dude is trying his usual: to get into my lap, at the computer, for morning nap. He is far more the cuddly of the two.

Another trait my Gambit has is belching! His big 'ol floppy lips will puff out when he expels the air. It's so funny. We always ask him if he feels better. He also snores, snorts, farts, drools (especially if there is food around), lays on his back, burries himself under the covers, and loves to lick ears! You gotta love them...they are just so darn cute!

Lost my Dog...

Hello,

Boxer Traits,,,,well a boxer trait is like a human, they are like little people..The best dog ever......I lost my Brindle Boxer on Sat---April 08,,Angel was 11 years old..and tonight I just picked up her ashes....I didnt think that I would be able to do this and should have done it months ago, but couldnt do it, but Angel got to a point where she couldnt walk..I had moved out in Sept, thinking she would get better but Dengerative Myopathy was her disease. So tonight I sit with her ashes he and its like I have my little baby.

Boxers are great......and when you loose one you love you really see how human they really are...

Hello,
I have been reading everyones stories and experiences with their dogs, funny and sometimes annoyng habits. Trooper does all of those mentioned, kidney bean, snoring , gas!!!!, drag his belly on the floor, licks like a mad man, and i havent seen anyone mention-- DIGGING!!! Trooper is almost 6 months now and he is currently working on his 4th hole in the back yard. Does anyone have a boxer that loves to dig????? I mean I could never be mad at him, he comes in with his head down and dirt all over his paws and face, but I just look and try to control my laughter, he is just so darn cute!!!!
