Sleeping Boxers

Hey Pickle,
If your around them all day then that's what you may notice... Also you have to take into consideration how old or young the dog is as well... Samantha sleeps a LOT, and she's 5 years old. Boxers aren't retrievers so playing fetch is a lost cause with some of them. I know Samantha would rather you chase her than her to bring it back to you... Some dogs don't find toys entertaining believe it or not... My mother has a cute little dog that looks at you like your insane if you try to play with her and a toy... Shoot she wouldn't even play with a person or sit near people till I was over there one day and got down on the floor and played with her and uncurled her tail... Apparently that's how she knew it was a safe place... How long have you had your boxer? Is your boxer in a new home? Has there been any changes in the house? what about food? Is the boxer eating well? was there a change in the type of food? There are numerous reasons this could be happening, and even the most simplistic is that humans are the only animals that spend more time awake than sleeping...

My boxer baby Jayden does all of the above, plus one other cute thing. Right across from my bed is my vanity with a big mirror. When I get in bed at night, she has to get a toy and jump up there with me. The first thing she does is drop the toy and stare at herself in the mirror for awhile. Then I speak to her, and she whirls around with this surprised look on her face, like "WHO is talking to me back there????" This has been going on for months; you'd think she'd have figured it out :)

I have two boxers, Bella and Stinky.
Bella has the cutest habit of going up to someone, and if they don't pet her, she puts a paw on them, then lay her head on thier hand, like here I am, pet me! She just turned four a couple of days ago.
Stinky walks around doubled in half ALL THE TIME. If her head wasn't somewhere around her butt I think I would take her to the vet ;) She definatly takes the whole wiggle butt thing to the max!
They both snore and have gas... Bella snores bad!
But then again ALL my 6 dogs have been known to be stinkers somtimes!

My Brutus is 13 weeks and he does the running around like possessed deal. he just runs in circles around the apartment then flops down for a few seconds then does it again. This goes on for about 5-10 minutes sometimes. I think it's hilarious.

I introduced him to the mirror the other nite and he just kept staring at it when i lifted him up to see it. so after a while when i'd set him down he'd tried to stand up on the dresser to see himself again. That was pretty funny too.

I'm new to this forum, although I have had a male Boxer for 2 years now; also, I recently adopted a female Boxer/hound mix.

My Boxer & Boxer mix do all of the previously listed; however, the main Boxer trait that I don't see listed is "boxing".... especially standing on hind legs boxing.

Another trait that I don't see listed is "stalking".... crouching to the ground at a standoff, just waiting to pounce....

I am new also. I have a 2 year old female Boxer/Hound. She will box me awake every morning. She is our baby, we can't keep our hands off of her. She was a runaway and stayed the weekend with us until we located the owners. When they picked her up we told them if they EVER wanted to get rid of her we wanted her. They brought her to us on Tuesday. Yea!
