Boxer Traits

Max is 16 weeks old and I've seen him do most of the traits listed so far. He is about 25 lbs. while my mastiff is about 140 lbs. He has no fear of her. He will race around the kitchen table and then into the living room and dive under the coffee table to get her to chase him. I'm surprised they haven't broken anything yet.

Max also likes to steal things and hide them under the coffee table. I think he feels this is his safe haven. He and Isabella will also play tug of war together. They will each hold an end of a toy and pull each other up and down the hallway.

I have no need to watch tv at night. The two of them are enough entertainment for me. The other thing that Max likes to do is sit on the center console of my Jeep and rest his head on my shoulder while I'm driving. It's the sweetest thing. He's such a mama's boy. I can't imagine life without him or my Izzy girl. They are wonderful. lovicon

what is it about feet and toes. my noel loves to flea bite my husbands feet and toes. and there is no putting your shoes on in peace in the morning, she is right there trying to help. and there is no mopping or sweeping in my house unless she is outside. and the same goes for vaccuming the floor. and here is a new one i havent seen on here, noel likes to sit on the riding lawnmower with my husband when he mows the lawn, if not she chases the tires.

I just wanted everybody to know that my J.J also loves to ride on things. When he was smaller we went camping and we took the 4 wheelers, he absolutly loves to ride on them. He sits there like a perfect angel. I think he likes the wind to hit him in the face. He also loves the waterhose. I was watering my garden yesterday and he was trying to bite the water. He was soaked. He got a bath. They are the cutest things. I will never own another type of dog.

:p :D

Porter has many Sherpa toys which we call his "babies." When we ask him to get his baby he always comes back with one of these toys. The cutest thing is to see him w/his two front paws wrapped around the baby, gently nibbling on the baby [almost like a pacifier] and fast asleep! Anyone else experiencing this peaceful site???

Also, Porter hops too..it is more like pouncing..we roll over laughing!

My Harley, the love of my life.... my little tiny terror with teeth... is a six month old runt. He's physically 35 pounds, but mentally he thinks he's one of the big boys. Here is what I've noticed about Harley's "traits".......
*EXCESSIVE EXPLOSIVE GAS (the pup can clear a room in a heartbeat, but what makes it all the more hysterical is the "I didn't do it" look).
* He runs like there's no tommorow across the yard and when out on the leash he *drags* me. Mind you, he's 35 pounds and I'm 135 pounds.
*He thinks he's bigger than he is, and it's so cute when he runs up to the mirror and smacks into it.
*Anything that moves, or he can move himself, becomes his plaything.... especially feet and plastic soda bottles.
*He loves showing off that belly ;) He lays on his back and wiggles around till you pet him.
I'm a first time Boxer mama and would LOVE any tips you guys can offer! ;)
Thanks!!!!

Boxer Insane
As a new Boxer Mom, I totally enjoyed reading this forum and have to say that our 5 month old Murray shares in a lot of these traits. He does do one thing that I don't recall reading and my husband and I were wondering if anyone has seen this before. It seems that whenever he has to go to the bathroom (#2)
he kicks his back leg ! It's a sure thing every time! Would love to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Kickin' Those Legs

This reply is to Linda [Murray's Mom] who was asking about the leg kicking! Yup.....Porter kicks his back legs. However, the kicking occurs after he relieves himself -- it is his signal to let me know he's done. Also, he has been chasing a groundhog in our yard. The groundhog finds shelter under our shed. Porter is determined to get him and barks, sniffs, spits and kicks those back legs in his attempt to chase him off his turf!
