I didn;t notice anyone talking about how smart boxer's are. My girl learned how to open her crate one day and when I came home from work she was sitting back in there with the door half ajar - I think she thought I wouldn't notice that she had been out all day if she was back in there. On the bright side, she prived herself a good girl and now can run free when we aren't home.

a new one!!!

Hey guys, I have one nobody else does...maybe it is just mine. Today my family loaded into the car and went on a road trip. We went to see if maybe the place that we bought our boxer had any more for sale. As we pull up in the drive way of the house, two big females with huge heads came up to the car. My first thought is okay no one is home, I am not getting out of this car, but they seemed to remember us, starting doing that "beaning movement" with their whole bodies...hey, everything was ok. Well, after our visit we got back in the car and as soon as we started the engine..that is when it happened...the two bigger dogs started bitting the tires..by the time I got to the end of the drive way I didn't think I would have any rubber left on the rims. Now, let me say...Miah doesn't bite my truck tires, but she does grab the four wheeler tires like she is trying to eat them..I am wondering..Does anyone else have this problem???? I have even gotten some pictures of her actually bitting the tires. She is awful. But I love her.....We are planning a new purchase within the next 6 to 8 weeks..

tire bitting

Well, Miah has never actually chased or bite MY tires, but most of the time she just bites the tires on the four wheeler. My husband is always careful with her. She is a member of our family. But the dogs that were tearing into my truck tires was her mother and sister. But I can also say that she is smarter and cuter than them. But maybe I am just partial to her. My husband is wanting a male, he wants the stocky build and the big huge head, but I want the tall and slim build with the head that has wrinkles in it. Ya'll know what I mean....

One more......

I just have to post this! Apollo has gotten into the habit of moon walking!!! I'll be laying on the couch and he'll give me the ball. If I wait too long to throw it, he'll huff and "moon walk" backwards! It's the best!!!! I try to get him to do it all the time.

All of the Boxers I've had (my own pets & fosters) have been major tire biters and all-out-vicious whenever anything with power starts up and especially starts moving. This includes: vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, vehicle, battery-powered scooter. Fancy in particular goes wild and will not just stop at the tires. She will also attack the weed eater, leaf blower and hair dryer if they are on.

My favorite Boxer trait has to be the wet-huff. Where they sigh so heavily or seem to be peeved at me and snot comes out with the whoosh of breath hehe. If we copy the noise, she will make it again louder. We've made a game of this and it can go on for minutes at a time with her huffing then one of us doing it back to her.

My Stone constantly flips over onto his back. He just flops his fat head off the edge of the chair and just passes out.

I think one of the most unique Boxer traits I have seen is how daisy will rest her head on something looking the other way from where you are, as if it is to heavy for their bodies.

frog style

Eros loves to lay in the "frog" position, with all of his legs out to the side. I don't see how that's comfortable, but he seems to love it! One of my favorite things that Eros does is when his upper lip gets stuck inside his mouth so that his little bottom teeth stick out! I'm sure this happens with other breeds that have big lips, but Eros looks so cute when he does that. Then he'll tilt his head to the side and look at me funny when I start laughing at him.

Eros Mom - you could have been explaining my dog just then! I LOVE the toothy grin she gives when her lip is stuck and also one of her nicknames is Froggy-Doggy because of how she lays with her legs spayed out!!

:p

Freedon my favorite nut!

You all must already know my puppy Freedom! she does all these things. But heres something to add, I own a grooming shop and Freedom"works"there too. One of her "jobs" is to try to catch the air that comes out of the hair dryer and to attack the shop-vac! There isn't a funnier sight when her lips start to flutter! She's too cute and has NO FEAR! :D
