Boxer Traits

Completely Boxer Crazy
I've read through about 14 pages of the traits and I'm realizing that Apollo is just a normal Boxer! He's always doing something crazy.

We have taught him one thing that he loves, ICE CUBES. You can't walk into the kitchen and open the freezer without all three of them sitting there staring at you watching to make sure you get them a piece. If you wait too long to give one to Apollo, he'll jump up to tell you to hurry! It's hilarious. Then, Apollo always finishes his first and will run back into the kitchen to get another, but I take too long. He'll run back out into the living room and I'll call for him, as Baloo looks over, Apollo steals his piece and then takes the new one I've tossed!! It's an inexpensive treat and they love em as much as biscuits!!

Jack is 9 weeks and he has a couple traits besides cracking us up watching him. He loves to dig on one of our couches. Only the one with a blanket, it is usually after everyone falls asleep and I am trying to read. It's so funny he will flip over backwards with his face stuck in the crease of the couch.
He also uses his paws like a kitten.
Everyday he suprises us with more.......

Lusi's Personality

Has anyone ever had any other breed of dog that is as humorous and had such particular personalities as boxer's?!
Lusi's 7 months and she does all the typical boxer things I've read in this thread. First of all, she either sleeps like a pretzel, with her legs all twisted up, or she's on her back with her legs sprawled out. She is always so happy to see you when she wakes up from naps, she kidney beans all over the place... every single time. Then, she'll gently pick something up (like a shoe) and kidneybean around you like she is so proud of her new treasure. (see her photo in the member gallery)
She also woo-woos, loves icecubes and carrots, snores like mad, scoots around like something is chasing her, tries to ride skateboards, digs in between the couch cushions, sleeps sitting up (because having her head propped up a little higher isn't enough!), and she loves to climb rocks. She plays with tennis balls in the house, but won't even touch one if she's outside. She does the jackhammer thing too: she'll dig a hole in the sand, and then jackhammer all the sand back into the hole-- we can't complain!
She sleeps with us at night, and no matter where she starts off sleeping, by 11:30 she's wiggled her little self right in between us, usually with my husband's arm around her and her head on his chest under his chin.
She's such a riot. One of the things we truly love about Lusi is she has us practically rolling on the floor at least once a day because she is doing something utterly hilarious.

Additions....

I read more posts, and Lusi also flea bites (barely nibbles you until you give up) and lays in front of the kitchen sink all the time too!!! The funny boxer genetics! She has just barely learned to catch treats in the air.

Also--- regarding the pimples: our vet told us to use a metal or ceramic bowl because the grease from her food was staying in her plastic bowl and gave her pimples on her chin, too. Since we got her the ceramic bowl, she hasn't had any. Maybe try that??

Sadie

I just thought of another trait ... is anyone elses boxer obsessed with the dishwasher?! Sadie seems to know the sound of the dishwasher door and is there instantly to help clean off the dishes before it runs. I try my hardest to keep her out if there, but it just doesn't seem to work. Now Rudy is doing the same thing. I can't think of any time that he's seen Sadie doing it, it's like it's instinct for my boxers to 'pre-rinse' my dishes before the dishwasher runs...they're hilarious!

LOL even if she isnt looking when i do it she will come in the bedroom and bring them back.. its sooooo funny..and another thing is. my son zach has this clown wig that she loves.. no matter where we put it to hide it she finds it and if she cant reach it she will cry and bark until we bring it down.. smashicon

Completely Boxer Crazy
My little Apollo is disgusted with fire and cigarettes. My husband and I were smoking cigars the other night and Apollo went up and sniffed his cigar and backed up and lifted his lips and showed his teeth. It was hilarious. I let him sniff mine and he did the same thing. Thereafter, whenever he saw them, he would show his teeth. I then held out the lighter which he found interesting. Then I would light it and he would immediately show his teeth. He just does not like fire. Scott and I were falling off the couch cause he was starting to go crazy. He was jumping and growling and barking at the lighter (lit or not).:p

Super Boxer
Knye,
Bosco does the same thing around cigarettes and lighters. He used to bark at me when I would use a lighter to light a candle and I finally realized it was the lighter. He just stares at it and tries to bite it. And when hubby is smoking he will just stare at the smoke going up like he is in a trance and then just sniff because I think the smoke bothers him. Then he will finally bark because it gets on his nerves so bad. Too funny!

Blue is my first Boxer. A friend gave him to me Christmas Eve. He couldn't keep him any longer due to divorce.

Blue (Boo-Boo) is a two year old fawn, docked and floppy. He is big even by Boxer standards. I have always owned sight hounds (greyhounds, whippets) so this is a new experience for me. My ol' lady whippet, Dixie, feels the same way. hehe.

Boo-Boo does it all. Kidney beaning, sliming, gas, flea bites, play, play, play. He is pure joy itself. And a total clown. He's a thief, a big baby, and the lovingest dog I've ever owned. One thing I haven't heard mentioned....the cold nose in the armpit. It happens if I sit at the computer too long. Boo sneaks up behind me, sticks his big, cold, wet nose in my armpit and holds it there.
I have to wear sweatshirts if I want to sit at the computer for any length of time. The pitiful expression he can have is a built-in defense mechanism. It gets him out of a lot of hot water.
