Here is one, when we leave the house my 3 year old female fawn will go around our house and collect items, clothes, shoes hair brush ect and pile them on our bed and lay with them all around her. Never chews, just wants them next to her. It is very funny to see how many different rooms she goes into for all of this stuff. I wish I could put in a camara to watch her in action.

Devil Chase

Unlike Buster (above), Addie runs around the yard like a maniac BEFORE she goes to the bathroom. It is hilarious! She has so many of the traits listed, but my favorite has to be the big sighs...she loves to jump between my fiancé and me when we are hugging. Sometimes we ignore her on purpose, and she lies down and just sighs up at us. Then we laugh, and she starts kidney beaning all over the place! What a breed!

Kidney Beaning

Yes, it is when they twist so that their heads and butts are almost touching...Addie is a kidney bean queen.

My two boxers have all of the above but only Titan jackhammers. Also the best thing about boxers is that you will get the same greeting if you have been gone at work all day or just went the mailbox. They get so excited to see you. Also wiping their face on your legs after they eat and giving big kisses to thank you for the meal. And that big wide eyed look they give you when they know they did something they weren't supposed to...and this is always followed up by big kisses.

Also sneaking up on the bed in the middle of the night in "stealth mode" so that no one wakes up.

Thank God! I'm not the only one

We now call dear Buc...'Disgusto Dog' because he does the boxer thing of slobbing and passing gas...usually when we have company! He has just started doing the woo woo song as of a few weeks ago. It's so cute. Usually when he wants you to find his bone that he's thrown under the couch or wants a walk. He also does the kidney bean, the frog lye-down and HAS TO SIT ON YOU the second you sit on HIS couch. And he LOVES company. Especially if they sit in, 'the love chair'. For some strange reason, whoever sits in this one chair in our living room ends up with Buc trying to be a 55 pound Chihauhau and in their lap. Thank God all of our friends like animals!!! beericon

OH! I'm noticing that many people have Boxers AND indoor Cats. I know mine get along GREAT!!! He's always trying to give the kittty kisses!!!!

common traits

This is the best site ever, I read all the traits and it reminds me of other silly things Dempsey does. I've never heard any other breed who is so endearing , smart and sympathetic. Not that I'm prejudiced at all! Do you're dogs stand straight up on their hind legs and walk forward if they flush a bunnie or a cat out of the weeds? Dempsey looks so much like a little old man sometimes I want to put a derby hat on him. He also never, never forgets where I hide all the chewed up baseballs, when I'm tired of his pushing them under things to woo=woo till I get them out. It could be two weeks later and he'll be whimpering at the bookcase, low and behold that's where some disgusting old rubber ball is. One thing he doesnt share is the gas problem, cause I make his own food. Rice, oatmeal, lentils, chicken/liver/whatever leftover meats, veg, much better and easy. Does Boxer World have a " New Owner's Boxer Dictionary" That would be awsome. We really do have some very real and specific words here! Hey, if Homer Simpson's " Doh!" can make it into the Oxford dictionary, we should have Kidney Beaning and The Woo-Woo Song! xxx Dempsey's Mom

common traits

I think all of these sum it up!

My 3 zip around like their tails are on fire..they also like to "stalk" you...they crawl around like lions on the prowl and then pounce!

2 out of 3 love attacking unsuspecting sprinklers and eat water as it shoots out attempting to water the lawns. :D

The "boxing" that never ends... the singing, "humphing" when they are frustrated...

The gas....

ENJOY!!

Door Opening?

I am ROLLING on the ground laughing hysterically at all these posts! My Ophie does all of these! And I thought my dog was the only spoiled, human-like, spaz in the world! Guess not!

BUT . . . do any of your babies do this? My Ophie will OPEN doors. She will jump up, paw the handle and PULL the door open. One time, she UNBOLTED and opened the front door! We had to change the handle so she couldn't do it! She will not allow any closed doors in the house. If someone wants privacy in the bedroom, and she's in the living room, the minute you close the door she's like "No, mom, I don't THINK so." She opens the door, and doesn't even want to be in the room. She'll just open it and walk out again. You try to close it? She'll open it again. Same goes for the bathroom.

LOL, any of you experience this????

opening doors

Austin doesn't like closed doors, either. That includes the bathroom! If there's someone in the house and I close the door all the way he sits out there and moans. I close my daughter's bedroom door so he doesn't go in there and stick his nose in herface
and wake her up, but he manages to get in there anyway! Chris O. Mom to Austin, 3 yr old male fawn white, natural ears, cropped tail
