I understand

My prayers go out to you. I lost Mr. Bear on December 19th from cardiomyopathy. He was 8 years old. I cried my eyes out when I took him to the Vet to see what was wrong. I was able to keep him for two more days. He died at home. He was jumping around the day previous like he had nothing wrong with him at all. I truly understand what you are going through. When the pet that you have always loved is very sick and you don't know what to do....it is very difficult.

John Kowalski and Cash (The new little Boxer that helps me remember Mr. Bear)

PS: I got a new pup on December 21st, His name is Cash. Hw won't replace Mr. Bear but he fills a void in my home. I'm single and I just love Boxers. Mr. Bear was my first. We were together for 8 years.

Update!!

Maddie had another episode on wednesday were she became kinda pale. She wasn't really doing much that should have warranted this episode. I took her into work with me thurs. to keep an eye on her and to have her checked again. I had our other internist examine Maddie this time to see if she had any idea as to why this is happening. She did an ultrasound, echo and ekg on her. Everything was normal except something with the contraction of her heart, which she said isn't bad enough at this point to be causing the pale episodes. She did not see anything else. Neither of our internists can figure out why this is happening, why she becomes pale at times. Her PCV also dropped from 39% on monday to 35% on thursday. Not a big deal to most people but being she had a blood transfusion, it scares me it dropped, it is below normal level again. I will recheck it again monday and pray it came up some. We have decided to take Maddie to OSU to be evaluated there. Our doctors (the internists) suggested getting her seen by a cardiologist to evaluate her heart since she is having these strange pale episodes. We will be going in through cardiology but we will hopefully have internal medicine see her also while we are there. We still cannot rule out a tumor in her GI that caused the bleed. What I found interesting was this one type of GI tumor the doctor rambled off once before can cause hypoglycemia?!?! Maddie was diagnosed with an insulinoma but I wonder if she might have this other tumor (which is NOT a good tumor to have, poor prognosis.) So it will be interesting to see what they have to say at OSU. Our doctors are pretty much stumped, they can't figure out what is wrong. It's kinda like a catch 22, I do NOT want them to find anything but I would like some answers as to why she had the bleed and continues to have the pale episodes. These pale episodes never happened before she had the bleed. I am scared to death to go for fear of what they might find and what they might tell me. Also, I have never, ever been away from Maddie when she has had any type of procedure done. I have been by her side for every surgery, every ultrasound, every x-ray, etc. It is going to be extremely hard to walk away and leave her there with strangers, I am going to bawl my eyes out. My poor little girl is going to be so scared, it breaks my heart. Not to mention she has very bad separation anxiety and does not do well in a cage. I also worry about her glucose dropping to low since she will need to be fasted for the ultrasound. I have been putting in some extra cuddling time with her!!!!!

So thats our update as on now, we'll see how it goes in tuesday, praying we do not receive bad news. I have been putting in some extra cuddling time with her which we both are enjoying!!!!!
