Boxer Insane
Update!!
Well, Maddie and I are laying in our own bed tonight at home instead of in a cage at the hospital. Her PCV this morning was 26%, I was a little saddened that it dropped 1% but at least that was it. Her doctor said we could try her at home and see she how does since she would be more relaxed and comfortable at home. She said she really needs a lot of rest and we need to make sure we restrict her activity level to pretty much zero. She still becomes very pale any time she walks, even just a few feet. The doctor is very concerned that this is still happening and is not sure why it is. We have to pick her up and carry her outside to go potty and carry her up the steps to bed. Someone needs to be with her at all times to monitor her color and make sure she just lays there (which is all she does because she is still so sick.) Her color got really bad on our way home, I guess it was a lot for her to handle. I will take her back to the hospital on Monday and recheck her bloodwork, I pray everything will be looking better by then. The doctor told me she understands that it is hard for me right now because we still have a lot of unanswered questions. We are not sure exactly where the bleed was coming from, why she was bleeding, and why she is still getting so pale. I asked her if she is leaning more towards it being a tumor now and she pretty much said yes, my heart just sank. When this all started last tuesday evening, I just had this awful gut feeling, a feeling I just can't seem to shake. I would be much more optimistic about this situation if she was not still getting so pale every time she moves. Poor girl is sooooooo tired of me picking up her lips to check the color of her gums!!!! I pray I am wrong, I pray this was all brought on by an ulcer, and I pray she will make some great improvements over the next few days. I have never seen her this bad, this weak, or looking so depressed; it's really hard and sad to see her like this. I love this little girl more than life itself, she has been my best friend and my rock since I lost Chance. I know some people probably think I am crazy for pretty much living at the hospital the past 4 days with her but she has always been there for me so why would I not be there for her?!?!
So that is our update as of now. We are home, she is still pretty sick and still pretty critical. We are taking things slowly and praying she pulls through this. Hoping Monday brings us better results/news. Thank you very much for your prayers and positive thoughts, they are appreciated more than I could even begin to express. Please keep them coming, we need A LOT of them!!!!!
((hugs))

P.S There is another dog in the hospital named Shanzi, she has been in there over a week. She has received a couple of blood transfusions and cannot be taken off oxygen. Every attempt to come off oxygen has failed so far. My heart breaks for her and her family, she is very, very sick. So if you could say a little prayer for her too!!
