Beau almost got us booted from Petco!

I wouldn't keep him locked up in the house either, but I wouldn't take him any place where children are common, at least until you know, without a doubt that you weren't going to have a repeat performance.

Beau almost got us booted from Petco!

What I meant was simply that, as a rottweiler enthusiast and knowing many rottweiler owners, I am constantly aware of my dog and his surroundings and the many things that can and do happen. Rottweilers are the number two breed of dog banned and restricted in many cities. If a rottweiler bites...

    Training school

She's just a baby! My best advice would be to NOT use the word come unless you can make her come to you. Everytime you use the word come and she goes the other way or holds her ground, you are reinforcing the fact that she only needs to come when she wants to. YES! Training will sort all...

i don't know what to do

Have you ever seen the lady before? If you have any idea where she lives, you may want to pay her a visit and see how her dog is. Put yourself in her shoes. If you had been walking down the street minding your own business and out of nowhere (or a parked car in a driveway) some big dog came...

Beau almost got us booted from Petco!

Sorry, she also stated in her post that she knows that the only time her dog is aggressive is when he is on a leash. Sorry, maybe this is the wrong forum for me. Having a rottweiler background gives me a different perspective perhaps. I would never take a leash aggressive dog to a public...

Beau almost got us booted from Petco!

So, what did you do when you dog barked and lunged at the little girl? Why on earth would you take a leash aggressive dog to a public place on a flexi-lead? Sorry, but it sounds to me like Beau needs to attend a training class. But, yes, children need to learn not to approach animals that...

hope this is not what i think it is......

I don't know how old your boy is but as my rottie aged, she got a couple of fatty tumors. My son is the owner of a lovely cocker spaniel mix and I swear every time I touch this dog I find another lump. Just fatty tumors. He is about 5 we think.

Mini Boxer, some people are just plain stupid

A couple of years ago, mixing a pug and a miniature pincher got you a mini-rottweiler! Haven't heard of them since. Hopefully, this will be just as popular and go nowhere.

    What are pin hips?

Could she have said Penn Hips? You can get hips certified through Penn State and then you have a Penn Hip score, but I have never heard of anyone getting their pups' done. Hips can't be certified until the dog is 2. If that isn't what she meant, then I am at a loss.

    Is $550.00 too much????

Ahh, much like rotties. That is rather what I expected, due to size, etc. Thanks for explaining about the BAER test - not many white rotties to test. LOL!

    Is $550.00 too much????

What health tests were done on the puppy? What is a BAER test? Sorry, I am new to Boxers. I know lots about rottweilers though. When looking for a rottweiler puppy, I would check into health tests done on the parents and I still don't know what a BAER test is.

i THOUGHT i knew what a boxer burn was...

See, I am already learning things. With rottweilers, this behaviour is called "zoomies". I would hate to not use the proper terminology for my little Max.

Thank Goodness I found you guys!

There is a long story as to how I fell into my boxer boy. I won't bore you with the details. I have wanted an obedience dog for a while, since my rottweiler passed away in March. I wasn't necessarily looking for a particular breed, but more an "attitude". That is certainly what I got...
