Hard to say what the specific cause is for your furbaby's bout of pancreatitis. I am not sure about dogs, but reflux of the duodenal contents into the pancreatic duct and both viral and bacterial infections can cause pancreatitis in humans. Hence, I am more inclined to think that your furbaby's...

We had a lot of sand left over one year when we removed an above ground pool, and initially didn't know what to do with it until we found that our dogs preferred to dig in it. We simply created a "sand box" for them in the far corner of our yard, and they have stopped digging elsewhere. ~ Cathy
