And I thought I was the only one with one of these husbands! HAHAHA. One year for christmas my husband bought me a new kitchen and bathroom faucett. At least I found a little humor in it because I told him if we ever moved or got a divorce I was taking them with me! Since then they have been replaced.

Ok so now your just making me jealous! Lol! Congrats!!!! So did you nearly pass out with the shock of it all..... not just the whole proposal but the fact he'd actually managed to pick the ring all by himself?

Thanks! I was super excited, but actually, it would have been pretty hard for him to screw up the ring. Both of us like simple, neither of us like gold, and he knows the stone has to be inset so it won't get caught on things at work (I'm a nursing student). Taking into consideration those three things, he would've probably had to try awefully hard to find a ring I didn't like. Plus, y'know, it's not the ring-it's what it means .

Come to think of it, though, he didn't give me any presents for any major holidays or events for at least the first year we were dating. I guess things just get better every year :D !

In the 30 plus years we have been married, I have somehow been designated all of the major projects of our house (ie tiling, woodworking, etc) - not necessarily by choice, but because dh is so horrible (don't tell him) at it. Hence, some of the "gifts" I have gotten in the past include a contour gage, miter and jig saw/s, etc. Forget the element of surprise, I now give him my wish list, and/or pick out the gift myself. ~ Cathy
