Otis got his name from a Disney movie called Otis & Milo. IT's a story about a Pug and a cat that journey to find their lost family.

It's DH's favorite movies and since we all couldn't agree to one name except we were all ok with Otis...well it stuck and Otis he became!
:D

Sirus'Mommy

Super Boxer
When I first got Sirus...his name was Rocky...Not being a big "Rocky" fan and seeing only small bits of the movies...I didn't get it! I was sitting on the couch watching TV one day not long after I got him (at 7 1/2 weeks old), and I kept looking at Sirus thinking to myself..."Why would they name him Rocky...he's white...and only got a little fawn on him...on his eye...and he's a Box...!" That's when I got it...Rocky!!! A white Boxer with a Black (fawn) eye!!! I felt like such a dope...But still...none the less...I've always liked and wanted to name one of my dogs Sirus. And it fits his personality.

Sirus: English; Biblical
Persian meaning "sun"
Greek meaning "lord"

The thing that really made me feel silly wackicon was the fact that I want to name my next Boxer Apollo...keep in mind that I thought of that name at the same time I thought of Sirus...so again...the whole...Rocky and Apollo Creed thing was just sort of a coincidence.

LCsCinnamon

Boxer Pal
Cinnamon got her name on the way home from the pound. She was originally going to be "Panties" (boxer = boy, Panties = girl :p ) but i was advised against that. So on the way home we were reading every sign, "jacks tire store" no good, "taco bell" no good. then some place with the word cinnamon (don't even remember what it actually was now) came up and the rest is history!

so thats my cinnamini!

I forgot to mention that James wanted to name him Marciano, after his favorite Boxer Rocky Marciano...that's another coincidence involving the name Rocky. I just figured that Marciano was a little bit to long for a dogs name...not to mention FOUR syllables! It takes a bit to get out...Mar-Ci-Ah-No! And I didn't want people to call him Marci...

Gruntsmom

Boxer Insane
My husband named our boy brindle Grunt (Grunt, Warriors' Pride) in honor of all grunts in the Army and Marine Corps. He is retired Army infantry (Vietnam veteran), and grunts have a special place in his heart.

Evie&Adam

Boxer Insane
Evie was named long before she came home. After tons of name searching, I just had to have her named Evie. Then we decided to get another boxer. we definitely wanted a male so naturally he had to be Adam! (Adam & Eve) LOL

My first boxer was Smitty. A BIG brute!! He was 80 lbs!! He was named for my Grandpa Smith. Smitty was his nickname. Miss them both!

Cindy

Boxer Booster
Our new boy is a rescue named Bronx. He had that name when
we got him. It seems to fit him really well. He's brindle, and
about 68 pounds, not bad for an 8 month old. His name sounds
kind of tough. I never would have thought of it though.

antigone631

Tyson was named when we got him he was 2yrs old. when we asked what his name was the guy said tyson cause he's a boxer. i thought to myself thanx for pointing that out I would've never guess that on my own moron!

Antigone- comes from greek mythology I've always liked that name. No one ever pronounces it right when they see it spelled out @ the vet they used to call her anti gone it's an-ti-goneee!

Thom- he is named after Thom Yorke the singer from Radiohead hubby & my favorite band. named that because Thom Yorke has a lazy eye thom was a puppy in a litter we had and his one eye opened completly before the other so we started calling him Thom when we decided to keep him it stayed Thom.
