To be honest i have found this site through search of the boxer meningitis... I have a 10 month old Lad - Bruce and a 3 & 1/2 month old girly girl - Betty. sweet as pie, although Bruce got kennel cough as it was going round the town like a plague, unfortunately gaining meningitis somewhere along the way its taken them nearly 3 months to figure this was the issue as once he got rid of his cough it was oddly re-occuring... several times in fact the last time he started getting pneumonia. at which point having been on several different medications thought thats it got to have gone... nope week after medication finished lone behold... ill again... what now? trapped nerve in his neck i was told?... ok?... pain killers once again... 2 days later inflamation in his back, hot head and back... right thats it... vets, referred and to see specialist, a normal nucleated cell count in a dog is <5 per litre believe me not bruce had 2009! yes 2009! the guy thought it was the date and had seen nothing like it.. yes meningitis... so once had shaven patches on head an leg looking like a rescue case.. bruce has been well for his 10 days on tablets finishing last sunday today being sunday 10th august.hes back to his stiff ill miserable self so off he is tomorrow to see his referred vet for some steroids... anyone suffered similar please let me know. its an odd one and am interested as too how long it will go on. any info much appritiated thanks charlotte bruce and betty xxx
