Wisdom tooth hell

Hi people
For about a year now my ear has been killing me and i've known that my wisdom tooth has been trying to come throughbut i have never really connected the two together now and again i'll get an ulcer on the gum but no dentist will see me so today i had to go to the emergency dentist and they said theres a bad infrection and i'll have to go to the hospital and be put a sleep and have it took out has this ever happened to any of you.

I didn't experience such an urgent case, but I did recently have my wisdom teeth taken out. It was really a pretty simple procedure (like I know, I was out of it!) I went in at 7:30am and was home a few hours later. They prescribed some major drugs that I only took a couple times bc they affected me so strongly.

I didn't have any pain at first, but the next week I had a constant dull ache in my jaw so I took the lighter of my two pain meds for it. You just have to be careful about cleaning out the empty sockets so you don't get another infection!

That exact thing hasn't happened to me but I still have my wisdom teeth in. About once or twice a year, my gums will swell up around my wisdom teeth so that I can't even close my mouth. It's very painful and makes my head and throat hurt as well. It's best just to go ahead and get them pulled. My denist told me if I don't get them pulled, it will only lead to more problems in the future. I'm just afraid that if I get them pulled, my teeth are going to move and it's going to leave some sort of gap.

my story is worse..... when I was a kid, the dentist pulled my molars so that my wisdom teeth could come in!!! I have ALL 4 wisdom teeth. I hope they never have any real probs cuz I wouldnt have any back teeth if I ever had to have them pulled.

Yikes, I feel for you!
I went to the doc for what I thought was an ear infection and it turned out it was an infection in one of my teeth also. It was not as bad as yours is though! Sorry to hear!

I don't know whether I ought to share my story or not..it's not a very nice one. I have had all four of my wisdom teeth out. Unfortunatly I lived in a very rural area and the regular ole backwoods dentist took mine out, nothing but novicane and they had to be cut and stitched. I got a dry socket, passed out at work from the pain and had to have it packed. It was several weeks before I got over mine. Now...on the other hand. I just recently had a tooth cut out and went to an oral surgeon who put me under and did it. It was fabulous. I was healed within a week, took very few pain meds and it healed wonderfully. I was nervous as he said since I had a dry socket before I was at high risk to have another but...I didn't get one. I rinsed my mouth like I was told, didn't smoke for 4 days and took it easy. It was the most pleasant dental experience I have ever had. I think my trouble before was the dentist and I would highly recommend everyone go to an oral surgeon to have that done. Follow their instructions and it will be a breeze. Unfortunately because of past experience, I have a bit of anxiety issue when it comes to the dentist so it's very difficult for me to go and I will never be able to have a tooth out without being under ever again thanks to that good ole fashioned dentist. I swear he had his foot on my forehead trying to pull my teeth out. He ruined me on dentists for the rest of my life..ol Take it easy and get it taken care of if it begins to bother you all the time. Just find a good oral surgeon.
