Why'd you name your boxer that?

Raymi!

Raymi was named after an indigenous celebration here in Ecuador called Inti Raymi (sun celebration). So his name means celebration or party....the party part fits him well, as he is always super excited and can make any day feel like a party or celebration!

Breezie

I picked Breezie because I like the beach and the river so I was trying to think of beachy or outdoorsy names. I thought of how I like a cool ocean breeze when I'm at the beach and thought Breezie would be a nice name for a little girl. I also thought it was appropriate because after losing Legacee, Breezie is a breath of fresh air. So Breezie it is.

Rebel

Rebel got his name because we knew from the moment we looked at him he was going to be a very big rebel. He has for sure lived up to that name!!!

Maggie & Moose

I was reading the interesting stories of how everyone named their boxers. It was such fun I thought I would get in on it.

Maggie: I thougth it would be a cute boxer name. By the number of Maggie's I see on this site, other thought so too.

Moose: Interesting. This one came to me in a dream. I was trying to decide on whether or not to get Maggie a sibling and one night I had a dream that a moose was at my back door. I told him you're not coming in here until I wipe your feet. So there it was the answer to the question. It also took care of the boy or girl thing. A girl named Moose...really.

My baby girl (12 weeks old) is Walcott's Sweet Potato Pie. We call her Tater, Tatie or Tate People always crack up when I call her Tater - I think it's cute!!

Walcott's Sweet is her Kennel name and all pups have to have names that start with those two names - I liked Sweet Pototo Pie because she is THE sweetest Boxer I've ever known (the vet even commented on it today) and she is the color of a sweet potato!

My boxer had the name Bella when I got her. I was going to give her an "O" name to fit in with my cats and myself. Bloppo, Jaco, and Rusto. But then I read that you should give a dog a name with an "E" at the end, so "Bella" became "Belly." Which ended up as "Belly May Clampett!"

 

[Silly Girl]

Sir Rocky of Darville

Well, you guessed it, I love the Rocky movies!!! But Rocky can strike that "regal" pose with no problem. So, I had to spice it up with a "Sir" in front of it. And Darville comes from my real name Darlene..."Dar Ville". I thought it was pretty clever. hee hee. What a great thread this was!!!

I'm a huge fan of all things Disney..so 3 of my 4 have Disney character names

Belle, my first boxer, after Belle from Beauty and the Beast..and I think she's absolutely beautiful like her name. Its also derived from the name of the first boxer i ever met that made me fall in love with the breed..her name was Rebelle, which is french for rebel.

Copper - after The Fox and the Hound. Fits him perfectly since he goes woo woo woo all the time just like the little hound in the movie

Triton. our most recent addition- named for Ariel's father, the King of the Sea in the Little Mermaid. He's such a proud pup prancing around like he thinks he's in charge that it seems a good choice so far.

Holly - is the only one that doesn't have a Disney name. She was a surprise for me for christmas. I hadn't even been able to think about a name for her, but a friend who knew about the pup before I did had suggested to my husband that we call her Holly. She's such a girlie-girl that the pretty name suits her perfectly.

 

[Oscar&Champ]

My hubby came up with Oscar's name long before we even got him from the breeder. He said he always wanted to name his first boxer that. So lo and behold, an Oscar we have. We both named Champ together after we rescued him. Champ short for Champion, because we thought he was a champion for all the rehab we did with him and for making a full recovery from his heart worms and 5 other types of worms he had when we got him. Some people said we were crazy but that is exactly why we got champ because of all his problems. No one else would take on the responsibility and that was the condition of his adoption. So he is now our Champ.

Layla and the babies!

Well my Layla came to us with that name for Layla Ali so when she had her pups we decided to stick with the whole boxer theme and the babies names are as follows:

The dads name is Lennix and brother is Tyson.
