Why'd you name your boxer that?

Why I named My Boxer
I found our breeder in South Dakota. She would e-mail me picktures of him from the age of 2 days old.
As I saw him grow, he got cuter. I wanted to name him Cooper. It was a friends son's name, and her son was such a sweetie pie. (I can't have children) so I though Cooper would be great. My husband, thought that it may offend our friend.
We were in a restaurant eating steak, and drinking Moosehead beer. As I was looking at the pictures of this Boxer puppy, His breeder told me he was the last one born, but the largest of the litter. As we continued to eat, a waitress asked if we wanted more Moosehead beer.
My husband then said, that's it!!! Let's call him Moose!!
I didn't realize it then, but Moose turned out to live up to his name. He is 95 lbs!!! :eek:
But I love every pound of his furry bliss.

When I was growning up we had a male Boxer named Gizmo, he lived to be about 14. He was the best dog ever in my opion. So when I got married I kept trying to talk my husband into a Boxer, (he had never been around Boxer's before) but I knew I wanted a male, and another name that began with a G, but not Gizmo. So I picked Gunny, because my dad was in the Marines for 27 yrs. So I decided that would be his name, even before I got another Boxer, well my dad loved it!!! and my husband is such a Boxer freak now he says he'll never own any other kind of dog again. We do have a mixed female from the pound, got her as a pup, Quint, after Quint on the movie Jaws. It fits her too, she's 7 now. Erin & Gunny

My Annie got her name because she was a first Anniversary gift from my DH and myself to each other.
My Hazel already had her name when we rescued her... but the people told me they had recently met a little girl with that name and they thought it was "Old-Fashioned but Original".
Their nicknames are Annie-Fannie and Crazy-Hazy (they like it when I call them that - because it's usually associated with getting something good.

Me and my boyfriend named our new boxer puppy napoleon. after the movie napoleon dynomite. i love that movie. and also napoleon means big man in small body. which fits our dog well. cuz he was the smallest from all his siblings. in other words the "runt". but i still thought he was the cutest thing.

Maximus is named after Russell Crowe's character in Gladiator. We waited a day or 2 before naming him. One night when we were watching the movie, I looked over at him and he was still going strong after a long day of play. My poor mastiff didn't want to be bothered, but he wouldn't stop. My wife said that he'd make a great gladiator, so I suggested Maximus and it stuck.

I named my Lykus after a mythological war God, he was such a hellion as a pup! Plus he is the largest puppy/adult boxer I have ever seen....110 pounds, not fat either! My other boy I named after Savion Glover, the tap dancer, because of the way he likes to prance with his pretty white socks! And he is tiny...I love their names, they just fit them perfect!

My first boxer was named Chelsea because she was the colour of chelsea buns. My second boxer was Frazier, after Joe Frazier. Jack was named for Jack Dempsey. Avery was already named when we rescued her. But she now goes by Avery Doodle or just Doodle, because when you talk to her or even just look at her, her butt looks like its doing a doodle dance!!
