Why'd you name your boxer that?

What's in a name?

Hi all...

I named my boy Famechon after a famous Australian two-legged boxer, Johnny Famechon. He was a world champion feather weight boxer during the 1960's.

I'd picked the name Rose (in case I got a girl) after Lionel Rose, Australia's first and only Aboriginal world champion bantam weight boxer.

btw, I had a cat with the exotic name Neko (pron. neigh-co). It's Japanese for cat!

Why did you name.....

Well wasn't my first choice I really wanted to name the little guy Xavier and call him X. But his mom wasn't having it, she didn't like it to be nice about it. but the name given to him was Ned, so that wasn't sticking.
So still with no name on the ride home, the idea hit me, Diesel, and no not from Vin Diesel. Growing up my dad drove a Diesel Peterbilt truck, working through college spent many hours on a John Deere 4020 Diesel, now have a Cummins Turbo Diesel. It kinda clicked as we were driving home in the truck. Diesel's are big, loud, and strong. So turned to his mom and asked what she thought, and she loved it. So it stuck. Diesel aka Diesel the Dog. Silly puppy likes the smell of diesel fuel too.

Zeus And Kia

My husband picked Zeus's name because he was the "king of the world" and that is how we feel about him. Kia(keeah) was my idea because when T, my husband found out I was getting a female he said it had to be a beautiful and simple name. Kia was the first one we agreed on.

My dh is a cop and he wanted a cop like name (and since I had to talk him into getting her, I wanted him to bond right away by naming her). Our choices were Glock (hahaha yeah right), Saber, Bullet, Tazer, Justice, Siren (I liked this one)-if we get another girl that will be her name, or Angel. We let our 5 year old son pick and he wanted her first name to be Justice and her second name to be Angel, so she's Justice Angel.

Looking back, Tazer might have been more appropriate as she has a schockingly energetic personality.

We kind of have the Dukes of Hazard them going on in out family, that is how Roscoe got his name. We have 2 bloodhounds named Bo and Luke Duke and a cat name Daisy Duke, Roscoe just fit.

My Puppy's Name is...

Well, my boyfriend and I just got a male reverse-brindle, and he is so cute! My boyfriend wanted to name him something "strong" and "masculine". So he picked out Elias (eeli-as), but I just call him Eli, its easier! He definately looks like an Eli, if that makes sense to anyone!

[Laila/Cujo]

Laila got her name because I liked the name Lola but wanted something just a bit different from that, so Laila was the next name I thought of. The next thing I knew my hubby came to me and said let's name her Laila. Unknown to me he want to name her Laila after Muhaumd(?) Ali's daughter. "Female Boxer"

Cujo my chihuahua got his name because it suited him and we liked the name.

Buddy

Well, Buddy might be a pretty common dog name but one look in this little guys face and we knew we had a friend for life. He really is a good Buddy.

Name

Our little girl is named Valkrie. Valkries were Viking female warers who were supos to ride flighing hourses and take the men who died in battle to the great hall (there heaven) so in a way they are like angels.

I gess we named her that because we only had her for a couple of minnets and she was already acting like a hethan She just a aditude of a warer but then she would just look at us with that im so inacent look that all boxers can give at any time and she was our angel. So that is how it came to be that our babby was named Valkrie.
