Why'd you name your boxer that?

The woo-woo sounds a lot like one of the noises that Chewbacca makes and her yawn sounds like the other noise of the character.

Mella makes this sound when she wants attention, and we refer to it as the "wookie sound"!

Trace's registered as Zoe's Lil Trace of Trouble. I was looking for an unusual name, and a Trace Adkins song came on the radio. I thought... hmmm... Trace is an unusual name. Zoe is the name of her Dam, and the trouble part just seemed to fit her. Also, she only has a trace of what color she "should" be.

Mella Drama was named by my ex. Her had wanted to name her Bellina (as in Thumbellina.) There was a girl that he worked with named Mella, and I suggested that name in hopes he would drop the Bellina idea. He considered naming her Mella Nomavich. His last name was Miller; he just wanted to have melanoma in the name. *eye roll* At last we decided on Mella Drama, as she has the most sorrowful face. As it turns out, she is quite the drama queen anyway!

My Harley!

We let our son, four at the time, help name our baby! He wanted to name him Justin after himself. But settled for Harley. Then for his registered name I used parts from our son(Justin Alexander) and part from puppies father(Sir). So he is offically Sir Justin's Harley Alexander! I have found that there are a lot of Harley's out here but he is our little Harley!

When we first got Gizmo My husband wanted to name him Ozzy. But after some convincing we decided on Gizmo. From the movie Gremlins. Gizmo had those eyes just like the little Mogway.

Tango got his name as at that time there was an advert on T.V for a lemonade drink called Tango, but there was a man covered in orange makeup who ran up to people in the street and slobbery kissed them, and the slogan was " you know when you've been Tangoed"
I thought it would be a cool name for a slobbery kisser dog!!!

I picked my Boxer's name, "Apollo", for several different reasons. First off, I wanted a name that was different and not too common. Second, since the name was going to be used for a Boxer breed dog, I wanted it to be the name of a famous Boxer, in order for it to have a sort of "double-meaning."
I guess the final and absolute reason I definitively chose the name, Apollo, came when we went to visit with several breeders in search of my new pup, and discovered that the Sire of a particular litter's name was Zeus. If you don't follow Greek mythology, Apollo was the son of Zeus, so I felt it was only appropriate. Since I had always fancied this partiluar name for a Boxer, I took it as a sign that I had found the perfect Boxer for me. I was right!!

Mine was pretty easy. I knew I couldn't afford a real Harley at the time so my new pup became Harley. I always told him that I couldn't wait till he was big enough to ride to bike week. LOL

What's the name?

When I named my male "Axl" everyone asked me if he was named after Axl Rose from the band Guns & Roses or if he was born under a car...no! to both. I just thought if was different and strong. So of course when I got my girl many people wanted me to name her Rose, but I picked "Aby". It just sounds cute with Axl.

Hey-the reason I named my boxer Gretta was that years ago I had knee surgery and was laid up for several weeks and watched the complete O J Simpson trial and the lady lawyer that brought the trial to TV looked just like a Boxer and I told my wife that as soon as we got our Boxer we would name her Gretta as that was the name of the lawyer. I guess we all have our own reasons for naming our Boxers

Shilo...

After the Neil Diamond song.Wanted a dog named Shilo ever since I was a small girl,had several dogs throughout the years but the name was never theirs.Hubby twisted my arm into getting a Boxer, and she was so enduring,she won the name!
p.s.- yes, I know the song is not about a dog

Why i named my boxer................

My boxer is named "Ozzy" after Ozzy Osbourne.. why? Coz he was the alfa puppy of the litter,he was very bold,cheeky & acted like he didn't have a care in the world .. i also wanted a fancy name just like everyone else .. but just after a few days he was definately an "Ozzy" he bosses our 3 year old Rottweiler "Kharon" round all the time! he is a cheeky little chappy.Ozzy is now coming up to a year old next month .. and he among all other boxers is just adorable!
