It all started with the little one...
Well, when we went 3 hours from home to pick up our first dog we had a lot of time on the way home to think of a name for him. He's a black and tan miniature pinscher. We thought of all the cutesy hahaha names for a little dog like him, but then we got onto the subject of all things cop-related since that is what both my husband and I did for a living when we met. We went through Bullet, all the guns (Smith & Wesson, Glock, Remington, etc...) and for some reason out came the name Kevlar. It fits him and everyone who meets him makes a comment about his name (it is the material bullet-proof vests are made of). He's my little protector too.
So when we got our boxer about 6 months later...we were challenged to come up with a good girl name. I wanted something feminine like Honey or Ginger or something cutesy like that - but since she was the husbands pick (the little one was mine) and he wanted to keep up the cop theme, it took us a couple of days to come up with Siren but it suits her as well - because it fulfills his cop theme, but she does act like a prissy siren from the 50's (except when farting like an old man) and Siren was a character in greek mythology.
In the process he came up with the name of the next male dog - Tazer (didn't sound good as a girls name to me). Sheesh....my life!
