Why'd you name your boxer that?

Love the names!
My boxer is 3 months old. His name is Boomer, he came with the name and I was the only one who wanted to change it. I wanted to name him Schilling for Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox or Trot for Trot Nixon also of the Red Sox. But Boomer stuck and it seems to suit him, he looks like a Boomer.

Lovin' the names
Well, Stars' full name is Converse All-Star. I named her after my favorite pair of shoes that she liked to try to play with. At the time I got her I had a shoe theme going with my cats, one is named Grinder and the other is named Van. My husband got to name Gonzo. He was named after the seasame street character and the movie "Leaving Las Vegas". Johnny Deps' attorney is named Dr. Gonzo. My husband loves that movie and Gonzos' nose is a little longer than Stars' nose so his name had to be Gonzo!

Angel got her name because she brought her two, (one older, one newborn) litters to a church to be rescued. The church ladies said that she looked so sad with all those babies that they had to help her. Now all are doing well and have been adopted.
Natas is really named after a skateboarder from the 80's named Natas Kopas (We own a skateboard shop) It is also the male form of the italian Natalia and my boyfriend is italian.

sophie's name just fits her. we had chosen the name before we met her but as soon as we saw her we realized it fit her perfectly!

We named Bettis after Jerome Bettis of the Pittsburgh Steelers. We're no doubt big fans! I wanted to name him Raliegh, but he's just such a tough looking beauty! And who's tougher than "the Bus"!!!

It took us a week to find a name for our Liberty. I liked Betsy, but my husband wanted Lucy. Finally a week later (and a week of calling our girl puppy) we settled on Liberty Louise Bloom. Liberty because she was born on 9-11-02, and Louise after me. We also have a weinerdog named Endo Luis Bloom. When he was a pup he did endos down the stairs cuz he was so long and his legs were so short!

I cant believe how absolutely creative some people are!! We just got our new baby girl a week ago and she is a reverse brindle with a little white patch on her chest and white toes! Of course she is the absolute cutest puppy ever and her name is Remington, Remi for short. My hubby and his family are big hunters (i know, i know) and someday we would like to get her a companion and name him Rueger!
I got the idea of 'themed' names from another thread on here and I love it! Remi's full AKC name is hopefully going to be 'Shooting for the Stars' (pending approval of course!)
