Which are the biggest wusses?

What do you think - are males bigger wusses than females?

My little boy, Henry (15 weeks), is the most laid back, happy go lucky little guy I've ever come across. He's all smiles and wiggles all of the time, strides confidently into any new situation, nothing ever seems to faze him - but oh, boy is he ever a great big wuss if anything hurts a little bit.

When I took him to the vet for his vaccinations - he didn't just yip when the needle went in - he *bawled* for several minutes after :eek: ! then forgot all about it.. LOL. And if you accidentally tred on him - oh, the anguish!

Now Stella is the compete opposite. Very excitable boxer and easily worked up - but totally stoic. Never made a peep with vaccinations, she LOVES her vet and only way you know if you've trodden on her is that there's something lumpy underfoot...

Anyone else's males/females this way??

I don't know who is the biggest sook, I haven't really noticed, but when it comes to ruling the roost, it usually is the girls. We have always had two boxers, male and female, and always the girls are the boss. The boys have always been the ones who jump from side to side up and down in front of the girl, and barking, wanting her to play, but none of the girls have done that to the boys. I have to laugh when I see this behaviour, it is as if they have springs in their feet, and none of the boys have disappointed me, they all do it.

Also, when we get a new baby boxer, the one that was the baby that now becomes the older dog, takes on the older dog role and leaves the baby role to the new one. It is as if they leave their traits as a baby and take on the older dog's traits. I hope this doesn't confuse anyone, because it sure has confused me trying to put it into writing. :confused:

My girls also rule the house, but they let the boys think they are the boss. :D If it is anything really important the girls rule the roost.

As for differences, I don't really see anything different in them at the vets or with anything I have to do to them. Sounds like your boy is a little overly sensitive. :D :D

I have to say I think my male rules the house. He doesn't take any crap from anyone. He's always playfull and loves to run around but if they do something he doesn't like he just looks at them as if to say don't try that again. And then they start playing again.

Well Zane who is a whole 9 weeks is the biggest cry baby. Not really. He had his ears done last week and it hasn't slowed him down at all. However when anyone comes near touching his ears he has to go into a woo woo dialogue on how his ears hurt and he is a baby. He is the cutest guy in the world. Cayenne and I love him to pieces

My female is 6ys old and she never fusses over anything like a "boo-boo" or an "owie"! She puts up with a 2yr old skin-baby who thinks she's her TOY! About 3 yrs ago, Xena "slid" off her collar (my fault:o ) and bolted across the road after a squirrel. A car was coming by at the same time and Xena slammed into the driver side door, head first, and went flying backwards on her butt!:eek: I froze with fear, thinking the worse. It was a very loud bang when she connected the car. She got up, sneezed about 4 times, and proceeded with her mission to catch that squirrel!! The man driving the car was so upset that he hit her, and was totally amazed, as I was, at how she wasn't hurt! (his car had a nice "boxer-head" dent in the door, and he didn't mind. Said he was gonna tell everyone that the toughest bad-ass dog he ever seen was a boxer and he had the dent to prove it!!)
Now my mother on the other hand has a male as well as a female. The male, Spencer, is the world's biggest suck!!:rolleyes: If he could talk I'm sure we would hear him constantly saying "ooowwww" or "Mmmoooommmyyy....it huuuurts", or "is it broken?" He is such a wussy yet he is the biggest of the bunch and jumps around in front of the others like "tigger", looking to start a wrestling match, and he is the first one to stop when he gets an "owie"!
Sorta reminds me of males of the skin type!! LOL

Oh man, Harley is definately the bigger wuss in my house. If a loud car drives by or I drop something he jumps & hides. He'll bark at anything that moves outside...one time I was outside in the dark & Har was sitting on the couch so I knocked on the window...he came running to bark & growl at whoever it was but then when he saw me out there he ran into the bedroom!! Such a good guard dog :rolleyes:
Now Zoe, she doesn't take any crap either. If Harley doesn't want to play she'll harrass him until he either plays or growls. Usually she'll con him into playing tho...

When Jackson gets a shot from the vet, even when he was little, it didn't even phase him. A day and a half after getting 3 incisions from his nueter he is ready to go romp around in the dirt again. We won't let him because we don't want himt o get his incisions all dirty.

My boy is very skiddish when it comes to loud noises and such, but as far as pain?? He is such a trooper. When I first got him, we went hiking. The poor guy got a cactus stuck in his testicle (before his neutering)! It didn't even phase him. Then, when he was about 9 months, a wolf attacked him at the dog park, and bit right through one of his ears. Then there was his neutering... didn't miss a blink! He's a tough guy physically, but he is a little scardy cat sometimes!

Please tell me it was a cactus needle and not the whole cactus. Because.....OUCH!!
