Haven't traveled out of the US much but loved Venice! The architecture in Europe is unbelievable in my opinion. As far as inside the states, I thought my road trip through the smokey mountains was great. We went through in the morning and it was beautiful. Even came across a spring where the water was as blue as you can imagine.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

A few years ago I studied in Italy for a summer and we only had class four days a week, so we spent the remainder traveling around the country. Our last trip was to the Amalfi Coast, and we stayed just above Amalfi in a little town called Ravello.

When we arrived it was dark, but even as we stood at the edge of the cliff where our hotel was, we could see how breathtakingly beautiful this place was. The water is crystal clear and the moutainsides are covered with lemon groves (This is where they make lemoncino, the lemon-flavored liqueur) The buildings are all stacked stone and the people so wonderful. We were the only Americans there, and when one of us would go down to the corner shop without the others, the people would ask, 'Where are your friends?' That Sunday, we saw a wedding party leaving the church, with the men all in their dark suits and the women in white lace.

This is the only place I have ever visited where I literally cried it was so beautiful. We took a ferry to Capri, which I also loved. It made me feel like Jackie Kennedy!! Rent 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' with Jude Law, Gwenyth Paltrow and Matt Damon for a look!!

tough decision

I've been a little everywhere but I stay partial to the african continent ( I was born and raised in Madagascar)
I now live in Sint Maarten which isn't too shaby but my favorite place are the Mitsiou islands, North of Madagascar and the Comore Islands. One, they are deserted and only accecible by boat, there is water ( as in drinkable) and if you like to go fish for lobster it's lobsters for breakfast, lunch and dinner ! The only downfall is that you have to be able to swim VERY fast lots of sharks hehehe
I still like to go to Scotland especially in winter, it's exhotic sp? to me that place got air conditioning like you won't believe ! ( Leven's the place DH came from)So the familly house, cousins, uncles ect... and plenty of hot toady with the Broons ( cartoon) to keep me warm.

Ok so this may sound wierd......but the Jersey Shore.
Don't get me wrong there are many many places that are more aesthetically pleasing then the Jersey Shore, but to me it's the experience and emotions that make a place beautiful.

If I had to pick something outside the US...I loved Ireland's coast and the cliffs. I plan to travel to some tropical beaches one of these days, too.

but Jersey Shore gets my vote. :)

Those pictures are absolutely beautiful!!!!! I couldn't imagine growing up there! That is a place I would love to visit - the pictures of all the mountains and of 'Otago peninsula' are stunning! They all look like copies of a postcard or something, they look so surreal, I couldn't imagine experiencing something like that!

thank you so much for sharing ;)!!

Bulgaria - the beaches on the Black Sea are gorgeous. as is the countryside.

Bryce Canyon in Utah is breathtaking - I liked it better than the Grand Canyon, actually.

Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada - got married here this past October, it's just gorgeous.

Letchworth State Park in NY - they call it the "Grand Canyon of the East." 3 stunning waterfalls, great rock formations.

I know - it isn't until now that I look back and think what a beautiful place it is! Luckily I am going 'home' next weekend to see it all again! These photos are actually taken by mum's vet!
