Samson and Delilah frequently sleep with us, in our bed, or on a pallet of baby blankets next to our bed (whichever they prefer). Sometimes they sleep in their crates in our heated/cooled attached garage. They sleep in their crates when I am tired and don't want to get up at 6:00 AM to let them out. This gives me another hour sleep and they sleep later in their crates, magically, when they are not in bed with us. I enjoy having the "kids" sleep with us. They are warm, smooshy faced, and I love them so much.
Tyra (Zipporah), on the other hand, was a very mistreated pup. We brought her into our home several months ago. She was never house trained (at 8 months old) and we cannot seem to do the training either. Unfortunately, she must stay in her crate at night and is often in our fenced yard. I love the little girl. She is a doll, but she cannot sleep with us because she has been proven to jump off the bed and have an accident on the floor.
Samson and Delilah have slept with us since we brought them home from their breeders at 9 weeks old. They are now 13 and 10 months old. We have never had a mishap in the bedroom, well, other than Samson falling off of the bed several times when he was small. Delilah puts herself to bed each evening. She quietly exits to the bedroom and gets in "her spot" in the bed, which is between our pillows, about an hour before we retire. She weighs about 44 pounds now so she is taking up a lot of room. It fascinates me that she took the same position the night that we brought her home and continues to sleep in that same spot. It's cute.
Hope I didn't talk to much. Oh, one more thing (smiling here), our pups began to be house trained at around 6 months old. Prior to that they still had some accidents in the house here and there. Good luck, and if you want your fur-baby to sleep with you, go for it. I think they like to snuggle with us, be warm, and comfy, and I think, given the opportunity to sleep with mom, dad, or both, they won't leave your side at night!
