I felt the same way. Have you vacuumed your couch yet? That was the big shocker for me. I had JUST used my old vacuum on the couch and then used the dyson. I about died. You expect the floor to be dirty but the couch? Now I vacuum the couch every couple of days.

No, I haven't done the couch yet, now I'm scared too! The guy at the store said to also do it on your mattress, you will be amazed at what you get out of it. That's really scarey too!

I have a rainbow. They are very expensive, but I've had it for about 15 years and it still works as well as it did the first day it came home. It picks up animal hair like you wouldn't believe! The only piece I have had to replace in 15 years is the bucket, and it was because I dropped it one too many times and it got a crack in it. Only $30 for the replacement.

We'd been considering it for a while, but after reading this post, we actually bought the Dyson Animal last night. Haven't tried it yet, but we will soon....

So funny this post is on right now! I saw a program which featured the Dyson vacuum and it's creator today. Very, very interesting! It was so cool to see how they test it and how he came up with his ideas and innovations for it. After watching the program DH said "hey, I want to vacuum today and see what I suck up". Anything that will get my hubby to vacuum is totally worth the money! I hadn't seen the the one with ball but it was on the show and it was amazing! I'm still happy with my Dyson Animal but if it ever breaks (hopefully years from now) I'm gonna try the one with the ball! :)

Only ONE negative about mine. For some reason it will make a HORRIFIC noise every once in a while. I can't figure it out for the life of me. Once you turn it off and start it back up the noise is gone. It seems as if you have sucked something up and it is clogging it but YOU ARE NOT. I don't know what the issue is but have heard that others machines do it as well.
Mine does this also, but it is with just one area rug, and only if I vacuum in one direction on that rug, the opposite direction no noise. It always scare the heck out of me when it does it
cuz it will do it every once in awhile on something else for just a split second and then stop.

I've got the DC14 Animal and wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I know the extra attachments and the Zorb is the only thing really different between the Animal and the others but I use my attachments ALL the time, and the Zorb stuff, OMG you thing just the Dyson pulls things out, try adding a little of that, we put it on the carpet of our apartment when we moved, I thought I had done a good job vacuuming LOL
