Ciscobxr

Boxer Insane
Cisco was going through a fear stage when he was a puppy and my Dad came to visit for a few weeks. My Dad is not a dog person, so he never petted Cisco or anything, and is naturaly very loud. Since then Cisco has been terrified of any men he does not know.
He is also scared of the vacume cleaner.

Chief is going through his fear stage right now too! He seems to freak over:

1) plants blowing in the breeze
2) lawn mowers
3) vacuum cleaners
4) hair dryers
5) crinkling paper
6) bugs
7) worms
8) teenagers

Oops, I forgot one. Flash is terrified of the pooper scooper and plastic grocery bags. My poor boy, he will come nowhere near me when I am picking up the yard.

How long does the fear stage last? Molson is afraid of loud noises over course and the metal grates that cover sidewalks (I think it's the noise not the fact that it is a grate) and mud puddles...it's the funniest thing to watch him try to walk around and jump over them, it's like he thinks if he steps in it he's going to sink. He also doesn't like the waves at the ocean!

Millie is very friendly and will walk up to pretty much all people and all dogs. BUT if a dog barks at her, even in a non-threatening sort of way she runs away. It's kinda funny to watch her run up and try to be friendly only to be scared away by a couple of shitzus barking their heads off. She is so friendly I think she gets caught off guard when that happens and looks at me like "What's their problem?" That's about the only thing that spooks her so far (she is 5 months).

I hope you don't think me mean for finding this thread funny. I laughed over quite a few of these posts. It makes me want to hug each and every one of your babies, lol. Jesse has his fears too and they are so unexpected that I have to laugh.

I have one of those kitchenaid stand mixers that I store in a closet at the end of the hallway. One day I was busy and put it on the floor outside the closet door. DH was playing with Jesse and Jesse ran down the hallway, spotted that mixer and skidded to a halt a few feet away from it and totally freaked...barking at it, woo-woo'ing, like it was some kind of alien that landed to kill us all.

This past Easter, our neighbor across the street had a full sized silhouette of a bunny on their front door. A white background with a black bunny. At night, they had a spotlight shining on it and it looked really nice. Needless to say, that bunny terrorized Jesse until they took it down. He'd go out in the yard as usual at night, but stand at the fence looking across the street and carry on something awful. In the daytime, he was ok with it but at night with the spotlight, it unnerved him.

He's my big, brave boy... and my little weenie boy. I couldn't love him more.

Completely Boxer Crazy
Lady's not afraid of a thing being she was a stray... she's quite the guard dog... but sweet as a kitten...

Now Rocky... omg... when we first brought Lady home and they'd be out back doing their thing, Lady would bark protecting the property and Rocky would run to the sliding glass door and whip his head from side to side all scared not knowing what that sound was, it was Lady's adult bark... very scarey if you ask Rocky...lol he hasn't been thru a fireworks celebration nor a heavy storm, California is in a bit of a dry season, we didn't have much of any rain this winter... so I'm sure it will scare him when he's lookin all tough and adult like next winter...LOL

Add my Hugo to the list of Boxers afraid of their own plastic poopy bag. We use the grocery bags too and Hugo is absolutely terrified of them. He is also afraid of trash cans or anything else that is left on the sidewalk. He is used to his walking path and if anything is amiss he flips out!
