Thats a great question! I really didn't know what kind of dog I wanted, I just knew it was time for company, and I cut back on my hour's and was ready to share time with a puppy. I looked on a site called pet finder.com answered a few questions read about the breed then started my search, it took months and months...I almost gave up, then I found my little Sadie girl I was hook line and sinkerd :) and I too want another. :):):):):) she's the best and sweetest dog Ive ever owned...I'M TRULY HOOKED

wow

I seem to be just like everyone else- Boxers were like a tradition in Hubby's family. So when we finally lived somewhere that did not restrict the size of dog we owned,we started our search for a Boxer. And I too will never again be without a Boxer.
Is it true that females tend to be more active then males ( non stop hyper)?

We had family friends that had one and he was my favorite dog ever. From then on I always said I wanted a Boxer when i was on my own.

I had to do some convincing to Gary to get one, he had sheppard type dogs all his life, then the price! Oh my, it took some persuading but once i had him at the breeders he was sold no matter the price.

When I moved to a new and more dangerous city, I decided to get a larger dog as a companion for my mini dachshund and me that would also deter potential intruders. I researched several different breeds and finally decided that a boxer was the best fit for my lifestyle. It was a great decision. He lets everyone know not to mess with his mommy. He is the most affectionate dog I've ever had (I grew up surrounded by various breeds), but he looks scary to everyone else!

My hubby got me hooked on them.He had boxers before,he lost his special girl Cissy to cancer and then had a pretty male named Bubba. Bubba stayed with his ex wife and I knew he had missed him as they did everything together. We had talked about getting a dog,he wanted another boxer,I'd always been around rotties. So he spent most of his time convincing me:) I'd had some major surgery and was at home recuperating for a few months and one day he suggested we go for a ride to get me out of the house.Little did I know how my life was about to change :) He took me into a reptile store and out walks the most gorgeous and huge male fawn I'd ever seen.HIs name was Archie. All of a sudden from underneath him comes this little bundle of brindle fur with the cutest face I'd ever seen. She came right into my arms for some puppy lovin's. I was hooked the minute I saw her :) So tiny and sweet and she smelled so good :) Little did I know that this was all arranged a few days before,so I looked at her name tag and it said " To my new mommy,Love Daddy." Miss Harley-Pooh came home that night and I've been priviledged to share my life with her for almost 8 years. Even though we have a houseful with 4,someday when we get a bigger place in the country,I know we'll have more :)

Just like when I adopted Trooper in 99' (his owner tearfully had to give him up) I had never heard of a Tibetan Terrier same goes for Roxy......I had of course "heard" of Boxers but was not familiar with the breed. I grew up with dachsunds, and then had a golden retriever and also a german shepard.
Roxy needed a home and we were lucky enough to adopt her! My husband loves both our furbabies however Rox is truely his baby. What a wonderful sweet breed the boxer is she makes me smile daily :)

I've liked the breed for a long time, but never really knew much about it. We had 3 dogs in the house for a long time, so it wasn't ever possible to bring in a boxer. When my first dog, Buddy, died last year, I did active research on the breed, and went looking for one. I really don't know what it is specifically about boxers that I adore, but I do, and now I've got my Charlie Paper. I wouldn't trade him for anything.

I was looking on the internet for info for a speech for a class I was taking. I typed in "why adopt" and I got boxerfriends.com rescue :D. I did a lot of research on the breed and decided boxers were for me. I fell in love with one pretty brindle girl on their site, a brindle boy owner surrender from flbr.org, then a fawn in WPB. The first two didn't work out :( , but 10 minutes knowing Owen and I had to bring him home. Thank you Florida Boxer Rescue for sending me to WPB animal control!!!
