I have the BEST news to report! Monday (Jan 3rd) I called our vet to tell them that we would not let LC suffer any longer. Steve was off work on Tuesday, so we would bring her in. He called me back and said he talked with the other Dr. and thought they would try one more thing.
I took her in and he gave her 3 shots. One a strong antibiotic, one a pain killer and one full of vitamins and minerals. He said to take her home and see if we saw any improvement by morning. I brought her home and made her comfortable on the couch with her comforter. After work I came home and fed everyone else and sat down with her to feed her some can food. She started to eat!! I was so happy tears came to my eyes!! She followed us up to bed that night and suggled with her brothers and sisters. She woke me up at 4:00 a.m.-I thought she had to go outside. Instead, she wanted her food dish!! I filled it up and she just chowed down! She has been eating like a horse ever since!! Steve had to stay home from work yesterday due to the bad weather and she chased the vaccuum, barked at the mailman, played with her ball and her brothers and sisters!
It is sooooooooo wonderful! We are so elated and Thank GOD for the miracle! We know she has something on her heart, but are going to be able to cherish her for awhile longer.

Oh....that's wonderful news! appicon LC wants to spend more time with ya'll! Sometimes they can be miracle dogs...and show the vets up on what they predict! Let's hope this is the case with LC! Please keep the good news coming....and we'll keep the positive vibes coming!

I just caught this thread. I'm glad she is doing better!!! Maybe it was some sort of abscess that the antibiotics are helping and maybe not an actual tumor? Who knows but I'm glad she is doing better for now.

Just caught up with this thread this morning...what a great turn of events on Monday! I am hoping this week has gone much better for LC, and that this turns out to be an infection or something treatable.

Glad to hear all is well. I had an old cat several years ago who got sick, was on IV's etc. The vet told me he didn't think she would make it through the night. We had made arrangements to have her euthanized the following morning so as to not let her suffer. Come morning she was bouncing around her cage at the vets and meowing to get out. He said it had to be a miracle because he thought for sure she would pass away on her own that night. We got to enjoy having her in our lives another 9 months after that, until her old body finally had enough and she said goodbye on her own terms with dignity. Good luck.
