Long time no post! I haven't had much time lately to read and post messages, but really need some help.
LC is sick. Today is the fourth time she has been to the vet in 2 weeks. Here is a summary of what is going on.
She has always had a slight incontinence problem, but a few weeks ago, she was leaking ALOT when she slept and she will not eat. I took her to the vet and he ran a urine sample. She has a bladder infection. We were concerned that she may have a kidney stone so they ran X-rays and did a blood panel. Our vet said he wished his blood tests were as good as LC's! The X-rays showed a few spots of arthritis on her spine-nothing else, no kidney stones or anything else internally wrong. He gave her a shot for the arthritis and we are trying some different meds to see what will help her with that. He also thought she had an upset stomach from the antibiotics, so he changed that. I finally got her to eat that day---some chicken nuggets.
The problem is, she is still not herself and will not eat. She is lathargic and nothing gets her excited like usual. We Before she started feeling bad she weighed 70 lbs. Last Friday when we were at the vet she weighed 63. He got her to eat some high calorie can food. I took home several cans, now she won't eat it. Friday was the last day she would eat. This morning she weighed 60. I am so upset, and the vets seem baffled. They kept her today to give her another check. They are to call me later.
LC is our first boxer and is my baby princess! We have to find out what is wrong!! Any suggestions? :(

My suggestion would be to test for Kidney Failure if that hasn't already been done. I don't mean to alarm you but she sounds exactly like what my Dakota was like prior to her being diagnosed. The lethargy and sickness are the big tip off as well as the leaking. Does she drink excessively? Are her gums white or pink? If they are white I would suggest a red blood cell count. If all of the above has been done, then I am at a loss and wish you and LC all the best. Please let us know what is going on with her. Take care and hugs to all.

Don't have any suggestions as to what may be wrong with your furbaby, but just wanted to send tons of healing thoughts and prayers in hopes that they are soon able to pin point her problem and provide the proper treatment. Do keep us posted ~ Cathy

Thanks for the input guys!
Roxanne,
When LC's blood panel was done the red cells were okay, the white cells indicated a mild infection. Sounds like Dakota had a time of it! I hope all is better now.
I am waiting to hear from the vet. It's been a loooong day so far-and it's only 11:45!

Cathy,
Thanks for the healing thoughts and prayers! I am doing that myself!

Michelle,
WOW! I never heard of such a thing! I hope all stays well!

I'm sorry I don't have any advice to offer, just well wishes and healing vibes. I hope the vet's able to find out what's going on with LC and soon she'll be on the road to recovery. Please keep us posted.

Well, the vet called. He did another full blood panel and sees nothing abnormal, except she is dehydrated. She hasn't thrown up since she has been there and has been eating ice chips. He is going to set her up on an IV and get her hydrated again. She will need to spend the night. He is going to go back over her Xrays from last week again just to triple check.
Thanks so much for all the support-healing vibes and prayers!! In between concerned calls from my husband, I have also talked to my mom. Her husband is a Paster near Joliet. She actually called the prayer circle and had LC put on the list!! How awesome is that! She thought people may think she's a little "off" but she didn't care. She knows how much we love LC!! :)!

I'm glad LC's blood looks good, wow huh - what a mystery. Sounds like you have a great vet though so I'm sure they will get to the bottom of this and find out what is going on with LC. Good luck, fingers crossed and I have my own little circle too :)

Thanks Roxanne! The more prayer the better!
We do have a wonderful vet....actually the whole office. All I do is call and give them my first name and they know who I am..we probably have the biggest file! Dr. Watters saved LC's life when she was 3 and had a little tango with a truck. Dr. Seiver treats them all like his children. Steve and I knew when we walked in with our Reno that Dr. Seiver was "our" vet. He came to the waiting room to get us and got down eye level with Reno to play with him and stood up with goo all over his hands, arms and shirt! (Reno didn't have a tongue and gooed everything and everyone he liked!) Steve and I looked at each other and knew we would go to no other vet. Actually, they all like going to the vet!! That says alot.

I was also going to suggest Renal Failure. My Maine Coone died of it at 15-1/2 years old. She was old and it is the most common illness to older kitties. But I also know it can affect dogs and humans. It can be treated if caught early.

Good thoughts going out!!!!

The vet called me back about LC this morning. He did more Xrays and found a tumor on her heart. She still will not eat. We think she knows and is shutting down. I will not allow her to be in pain, I love her too much. I am so devastated right now. She is our baby. Our first boxer. She was only four months old and stole our hearts from the very first day. She followed Steve as he mowed the yard. She loved and protected us with her whole heart. Now we have to make decisions that are so unfair. I just can't stop crying.
