Glad to hear that Jake's condition has now been upgraded to stable. One of our dogs also went into liver failure due to long term use of a medication, but she recovered nicely. Sending you healing thoughts and positive vibes in hopes that Jake continues to improve. Do keep us posted ~ Cathy

I'm glad you posted because I was wondering how Jake was doing - but was hoping to hear that he was all recovered. Poor baby boy. And I can only imagine how very difficult this has also been for you and your family. Jake sounds like such a trooper!! Hang in there, you beautiful boxer boy. Just sending healing vibes your way from me and Abigail.. Keep us posted.. When Brandy became ill I boiled a whole chicken and made her chicken and rice to mix with her food. It worked got her eating a bit more than she had.. might try this.

I just caught onto this post and after reading all three pages I am tired,frustrated and drained. I can't even begin to imagine what this is doing to you & your family. Please know all of you & of course Jake are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope the doctors & students at the school will find a way to make Jake better and you will not have to make the decision to euthenize.

"Turning the Corner"
The vet called with an update this morning and said that it seemed Jake was "turning the corner" with his liver failure. All of his bloodwork numbers look better except for one - which is contributing to his jaundice. He is quite yellow in his eyes and skin from the breakdown of his liver. The vet remains positive and Jake will need to stay in their care for a while. Jake even volunteered to stand up when she came into the room. She said that is definately a good sign. It's been 5 days since we dropped him off. The house is so lonely. I found our cat sleeping on Jake's fleece pillow yesterday - next to Jake's bone. He NEVER has set foot on that pillow before. As much as kitty hates to admit it, I think he misses him too. I am on such an emotional roller coaster right now. I know that Jake is responding to everyone's prayers and good vibes. You guys are awesome. Thank you so much.
