What does your Boxer do to let you know he/she needs to potty?

This is so cool to me. We were going to bell train Chico to let us know when he needs to go potty. Well, we have a 20 month old daughter that thought the bell was way too much fun. That did not work so well because of her. We have a set of blinds on our back door. About two weeks ago, I heard the blinds knocking against the door. It was Chico. Every since then, he knocks the blinds with his nose when he has to go. He just sits and waits by the back door, knocking the blinds, until we take him out. I am such a proud Mommy. Since I am learning just how smart they really are (amazing), I was just wondering of any other cool tricks for going potty. I swear, this is the smartest breed I have ever been around.

Ty paces the kitchen, then after a minute of just pacing, he starts whining while he's pacing. After a minute of that, he progresses to barking. When the barking starts, that means he has to go NOW lol.

Kilbane hasn't made up his mind yet. He'll ring the bells, scratches the door, paces and stares or just sits in front of the door. Since the back door is out of sight if it gets quiet I know something is up, that's when it's time double check on him.

Smart puppy Chico! He found a way to alert you! Gracie uses the bells...very well! If I don't get there on the first ring she will bang them extra hard/loud to let me know she is waiting! LOL! And of course, she rings them to go out all the time, not just to potty!

Somewhat related--at night when it is late and cold, she sometimes likes to take her time sniffing the air, checking the corners of the yard, etc after her final pee of the night--well, I have started a new way of warning her that her time is up--I flash the porch light on/off once and that is her cue to get her butt inside! works like a charm--she will run back to the door and come inside right away whereas if I just call her, she will hold out for extra time!

We tried the bells but it didnt work!

He never has chance to let us know as every 4-5 hours we say 'do you need a wee-wee and if he jumps of the sofa (which he normally does) then we let him out.

chloe paces and whines really loudly if we are awake and goes to the front door, if we are sleeping she comes over to me and licks my face and whines.
