I love this thread!!

I am a CPA--exciting, huh? I used to work for a big public accounting firm as an evil auditor, but I decided that I would like to have a life outside of work! I joked about being a vampire because I worked so much, I never saw the light of day!

Now I am a financial reporting manager for a major home furnishings and accessories retailer. I basically put together the quarterly and annual reports that go to the SEC, Board of Directors and stockholders. The fun part is getting to see all the new merchandise!

On the side, I design and make jewelry! I discovered this awesome hobby last year and would like to eventually have my own business. I make all kinds of jewelry, but among my coworkers and friends, the most popular seems to be mommy bracelets (silver & crystal bracelets with children's names and birthstones). But with a full time job, I don't have as much time as I would like to make my jewelry!

But when I "grow up" (if that ever happens) I just want to be a mommy to my skin and fur babies!

I work at a catalog call center for Cabela's. I'm not sure if anyone know what Cabela's is, it is like Bass Pro but better ;). Basically, when you call to order something, I'm the one that answers.

If you only knew how much my father likes Cabela's. He has the credit card that gives you Cabela points for every purchase. He uses that card for everything!!! You may have talked to my dad!!!

I am finishing up my BA in Criminal Justice this semester (May 6th). When I am not in school I am working fulltime selling insurance for Allstate. I have worked for Allstate for five years now.

I like my job a lot but I would prefer to be a stay at home mom/ Domestic Goddess. Guess we gotta have some skinkids first!

My DH is in sales.

I used to be a CPA but now I am secretary extraordinare for my husband who is an attorney. On the plus side, if I want to take a day or two off what is he going to do? Fire Me? LOL On the minus side, sometimes I feel a bit underutilized. On the PLUS PLUS side, Mason and Aspen get to come to work alot cause their daddy's the boss :)

I worked as a legal secretary/paralegal for nearly 20 years and got burned out. No offense to LeahR, but attorneys are a little on the difficult side. I got very good at what I did, and I would still have a boss hovering over me like it was my first week on the job. There were a couple exceptions - I worked for two attorneys during my career who really let me put my skills to use. And unless you work for a good firm in a big city, the pay isn't enough as a primary income, either, so that helped me make my decision to get out of it for good. In February, I opened my own interior painting business and love the change and the flexibility. I usually work longer days, but I work fewer days a week for a better income - AND, I get to spend more time with my babies. Hooray!
