What do you do for a living?

I'm a teaching assistant at a primary school and my work at the moment is really varied, some days I don't know my a*se from my elbow
Ready, here goes?....................
I usually work 1 to 1 with special needs children (Aspergers & Autistic children included) or EAL (english as an additional language) children. Last year I supported a boy who could only speak Mandarin who was also behaviourally challenged shall we say To be spat at, kicked and head butted became a 'normal' day for me.

I am currently working with a polish girl and a bangladeshi girl in year 1 for literacy and also supporting in a reception class (4 - 5 year olds) and supporting a child with ADHD at lunch times and also supporting a boy with klinefelter's syndrome at playtimes out on the playground. Actually he eats his lunch with me & the boy with ADHD too.
I am 'Positive handling' trained so can be called upon at any time of the day to assist other staff with the extreme cases of behavioural children.
I have a 15 mintue tea break each day and eat my lunch with my charge so don't really have a lunch hour as such.
I love my job, I like the challange and coming on here helps me to unwind heaps but roll on summer holidays

I am a community cancer nurse. I am lucky enough to be able to say I love my job. We first meet a client when they receive their diagnosis, support them during treatment, and should their treatment be unsuccessful visit them at home as up to 6 times a day, and provide overnight home nursing so they can pass away in their own homes surrounded by their loved ones.
It sounds really depressing when I write it down but it's a rewarding job, each day is totally different. we see anyone over the age of 5 so I can spend a morning with a teenager and play computer games for an hour whilst assessing needs etc. Then spend the afternoon with a 90 year old remembering the old days.

I am a Health Claims Analyst. I work from home, as long as I work at least 30 hours between Monday and Sunday, they don't care what times or days I work I've been working for the company for about 13 yrs, the last 5 being at home (when my youngest was born). I am currently in school full time persusing my Nursing Degree. I graduate next June

I plan to stay at the company I work for now and pick up some shifts as a Nurse. Why would I leave the job I have now?? I have no weekends (unless I want to), paid holidays, 4 weeks of vacation, I am at home..yeah let me trade that in for working a 7a-3p job, with alternating weekends and holidays..no thank you. I'll go to work full time as a nurse when my little one is a bit older.

I'm a Mothercraft Nurse,fancy title is Parent Educator.I work 4 days a week,Mon-Thursday.
I work with families whose children are poor sleepers,fussy eaters,breast + bottlefeeding difficulties,behaviour issues,toilet training.I work with the age group Birth-4yrs.
I love meeting new people every day,and I find meeting the challenges really rewarding,love my job.

I work for a small, family owned insurance company with 105 employees. I currently sell insurance to tractor-trailer drivers but I am going bonkers I can't stand it so I am starting to train for a new position in marketing tomorrow! I love the company I work for but I had to have a change. I also work for a babysitting company usually 2 nights a week or so. I get to babysit for rich people and pretend it's my life

I manage special projects for a utility company. Right now I am working on a massive reogranization amongst several states/regions trying to consolidate and standardize processes. I like my job, but frankly, it is relaxing to come home to 3 boxers!!!

I work in the Human Services Field as a Vocational Instructor/ Case Manager! I work with individuals with various disabilities (all across the board from ADD, ADHD, Mental Health, OMRDD, Downs, Diabetes, Learning Disabled, etc....). I work to find them community based employment; teach and train them work ethic, responsibility, community inclusion, budgeting skills; setting them up with bank accounts; establishing credit (if need be); establishing housing that fits their needs; coordinating public assistance (such as medicaid, medicare, SSI, SSDI, etc...); travel training with public transportation; hooking them up with charities, food stamps, salvo, etc... It's an all around the board job... but very rewarding!!!! When we do rec/club days or special events, I can bring the doodle~bugs to work with me! The people we serve love them and they are good therapy that bring smiles to their faces always!!!!! :D

I am a Registered Nurse. Over the first 20years I worked in Surgery. Now I work in the Digestive Disorder Department. I love my job. I do preprocedure, intraprocedure and recovery. I really think I will stay at this position till I retire.

Man that's the job i wanted to do when i left school but didn't know where to go to do the training mind you i didn't really look to far into it

i'm an office manager for a small construction company who do maintenance in the coal mining industry - very very stressful at the moment - one step away from being insolvent due to many reasons some not our fault and it's me who has to handle all the calls for payments plus find cash to pay everything as well as the day to day running and bookkeeping but i do love the book keeping side but i dont handle being abused about paying the bills so late and i do mean abused by some creditors not all just some, most of them are fine and realise i JUST work for the company not own it

i did forget the good thing about my job - i work 4 days per week 7hr days, i can work from home and if i have to come to work and one of the dogs is unwell i can bring them - it was handy when tigger was having his meningitis (sp) turns he came to work with mummy
