Toni'smom

Super Boxer
Toni is 4 1/2 months and just started this weekend. Unfortunately it was my car she was barking at. I had parked it back further in the drive than normal and she could see it out the front door. Everytime she would hear a little noise she would run to the front door. When she would see my car she would start barking. I finally had to go move the car forward so she could not see it. It was quite funny actually. Then a neighbor came to the front door last night and she went on guard immediately until I told her quiet and I opened the door. Then she decided he was okay and she wanted to kiss him to death. Luckily he owns a boxer too and knows they are generally harmless.

OH YEAH I have to brag a little. Toni learned "Stay" this weekend. If she could learn no bite I would be in Heaven.

Katie will alert me to anything within 500 yards of where-ever we are but when they come to the door she runs away. But that is only with me, she will stand between everyone else in my family and strangers. Guess i really made the "alpha female" impression on her, she feels that i should handle everything. it is too funny!

Boxer Pal
Orion didnt show his protective side when we were living on base, I guess just like us, he didnt feel that house as his. But as soon as we did the moving to our house, and I mean during the actual unloading of the trucks he started to growl and bark at the neighbors.
And when we are driving thru Bogota, everyone getting to close to our car its gonna get a barking/growling session from a 80 pounder 2 year old male for free LOL
I really like the idea of him feeling guardian of his house, especially since I'm not at home most of the time (due to being in the military) and I can rely on him. I know my wife and my skinkids are ok at home with him.
I love my boy Orion

Protective

I have a 2.5yo Male and he barks alot, but if it comes right down to it I think that he would lick them to death. I also have a 7mo Female and she growls but doesn't start barking until my Male does. I really wish that they were a little more protective than they are. But who's to say that when it comes right down to it what could happen if someone actually threatened our family. I have a 5yo Saint Bernard who is an "outside" dog and he's my biggest protector. The size of him alone makes people wonder if they should approach. He weighs in at about 175#. He's is the biggest baby though, but when someone comes he stands between me and them until I say it is okay for them to come up on the porch. I figure with those three protecting me I shouldn't worry much. LOL

Boxer Insane
At the age of 8 weeks and i have to say it came as a shock to me!!!
We were at the beach and i held Avra on my chest when i felt a very deep growl ...i turned and saw a dog which had put his head in our van ,we had the door open and the van was about 10m. away from the beach
It was a shock for me because Avra is my first boxer and i hadn't any experience in guard breeds.

Reno

Boxer Buddy
Our dog is 3 years old and has only growled once - at the pizza delivery truck, bad doggie - we like our pizza!!! Our backyard is on a bike/walking path and has traffic all day long. Reno will just sit on the deck and watch, never hear a pep out of him. The only time he get's loud is when we play tug with him. He's very alert, but all he dose is wiggle his butt at everyone.

Coco'smommy

Boxer Insane
Coco is four mos and has shown her protective side. Once in the house when she got freaked out over my hubby limping down the stairs in the dark and just the other night she really had me worrying for a moment. We were in the kitchen, I was on the computer checking out BW (Imagine that). We have a full glass door in our kitchen to the backyard. She was sitting there and stood up, perked her ears up and started this low deep growl. I tried to talk to her and she wouldn't even look away from whatever she was seeing to look at me. I jumped up because of course my back is to the door and went across the room behind and got behind the wall by the door cept for my head cause I was watching her. I'm such a chicken, but hey, I believe in my boxer and if she acts like that, something is amiss. I start hollering for hubby to come down, told him Coco was freaking out and someone needed to check out in the backyard, not me tho! He came down and turned on the light, looked out, didn't see anything, Coco went right out the door, he followed, never did see anything so I don't know what she was growling at and looking at but it must have left so fine by me!

Boxer Booster
My Porter boy

Porter is only 13 weeks old and is showing quite a bit of protective behavior in our backyard. Our fence is 6 feet high on all sides but the left (we are replacing it this summer) We have two men that live next two us on that side, and when they come out into their backyard he takes off running and barking. He'll stand full stance and barks and growls at them. I've been trying to get him used to them, so I'll go over and be friendly and show him that they are friends, but he kind of gets in front of me and keeps growling! However, he shows no guarding activities yet to our front door! Anyone who walks through the front door is a friend :)
