Boxer Pal
I was just wondering around what age yall's boxers started to get protective of you and the house. I know sampson is still young, but whenever anyone approaches my apt. he just looks at the door and lays back down.

Completely Boxer Crazy
Boo is 20 months old ...and he has just now starting to get really protective ....before he loved everyone...now he knows who to trust & not to trust. If someone tried to hurt either of us ...they would have hell to pay ..but on the other hand ..he's the biggest lap dog there is ..:)

We got Bronx when he was 8 months old, and it took him a day or two
to be 'on guard'. He is now 10 months old, and he sounds really tough.
Any strange noises or car doors and he is up and at 'em. He would
probably lick them to death, but they don't know that.

I adopted Tae when she was 13 mos old and within 5 days she jumped up when she heard a strange noise outside. Since then, she's awoken me twice in the middle of the night (both times in response to noises that were false alarms, thank gosh!) and growled when a man walked by the house at dusk. She is definitely aware of anything strange outside.

Titus and Chloe sit at the front door and growl at the people passing by. They are very alert but the minute the front door opens they go into a kidney beanin frenzy. lol. Boxers are a trip.

Ronin1

Boxer Insane
Ronin is almost 13 months, and not truly protective. If he hears a strange noise, he's alert - but that's it. When he's outside, he will hang back if there's something/someone he's unsure of. Once he gets a better feel of whether it's friend or foe - he's all wiggles and happy. I am really glad that so far he's very reserved. Our last male boxer would charge head on - no questions asked. I was always so afraid he was going to get himself into trouble. Ronin is just perfect (for me) and I hope he stays like this!

Rocky is 9 mos old & has picked up the guard dog vibe from our over protective boston Mia...but he stands behind her when he barks! He also viciously attacks a large pinwheel I have in my garden in the backyard nightly on his own.

Shotze's Mom

Super Boxer
Shotze is only 4 months and she has already shown her protective side twice. Once my Dad was at the patio and woke her up and she had a "big dog" bark until she saw it was him...the next time, my son was in his room during the week and she was use to him being at school and heard him drop something in there and went nuts. lol.

Tank is about 14 months old now, he started being showing protective behavior at about 9-10 months. Tank has never been an aggresive dog at all, but this one night a few months back we pulled up in the driveway at night in the car and some guy came up to my window to ask me a question and Tank came unglued!! Luckily the window was only unrolled a few inches or he would have went out the window after this guy.
