Well I hope I don't gross anyone out too much by telling this. If you are eating you might not want to read it right now. Both Keisha and Travis have eaten quite a few things that they shouldn't. But Travis takes the cake - paws down.

I was called to the yard one day by my hubby to find a "string" hanging out of Travis' behind. He was walking in circles and looking at his butt and then at me like he was saying "help me". So after getting a big wad of paper towels I pull on the string - and out popped TWO used tampons on the other end of the string. :o Thank goodness he doesn't raid the bathroom garbage anymore!

Another time we had to rush him to the emergency vet - he was coughing and starting to have difficulty breathing. As soon as the vet and his assistant lifted him up on the table before they had a chance to give him a sedative (so they could better examine his thoat ) he coughed up a bird skull complete with beak. Problem solved - bet that was the easiest $80 that vet made. It was the remnants of a hawks dinner I'm sure as I had seen hawks taking sparrows from near our bird feeder around that time.

My vet had a boxer and she told me that once he ate the two batteries that were in the tv remote control! She bring him to the office and it's a luck that it comes out without being pierce! My friend's boxer ate his mom glasses... It doesn't broke the glass, but it was all scrach evilicon !

When I got married in May, my wedding dress was too big in the frontal area, so I had to invest in some gel type boobs, which are quite expensive.
2 days after the wedding, I was cleaning the house and thought how good Copper was being, as he was so quiet. Thinking he was having a nap upstairs, I creeped up to spy on him. You probably already guessed it! There was boob everywhere! It was stuck to his head, the side of his mouth, all over the floor/bed/clothes. It was slimey, mini-ice cube size chunks.
At first I was horrified!! Seeing the look on my face made him freeze, not even his tail moved, and we stood like that for what seemed like forever. Then his little stub slowly moved left to right, almost like a question. I have to admit, I didn't quite laugh up a storm, but he got a smile which saved his life.

When my husband got home, I thought he was going to pee his pants. It was the funniest thing he had ever heard.

It came out the other end for 2 days.....hey they were big boobs!

Oyster crackers! Bingo doesn't get any real food and table scraps but he does love veggies when I am cutting them up. We travel to Cincinnati, Ohio a few times a year and we stop at Skyline Chili because my hubby loves it. Well, they give you oyster crackers for your chili and Bingo is always too stressed to eat when we start traveling so we try and get him to eat anything we can....so we gave him an oyster cracker and he was hooked. Now we can't have soup without a big drooly mouth and paw punching us asking for the crackers.

Also anything with a spoon from the first time he was able to lick a spoon. So, ice cream, pudding, peanut butter,,,you've got the 'EYES' on ya!

And boy, Debbie, was Knight ever a beauty!!! I'm amazed he didn't go grey and you got to have him until he was 12 1/2!!!!! How lucky are you!!! Was he neutered? Just curious because he was obviously very healthy! Gorgeous!

Boxerma, Knight was an intact male. He was my foundation boxer and with his beautiful conformation and perfect boxer temperament he sired my top boxers, such as Rose and Zack.

He was probably everything a person could ever hope for in temperament, regardless of what situation he found himself in.

His biggest love was puppies!!! He adored every litter we had and would take excellent care of the babies. He was truly an amazing boxer and our home is not quite the same without him.

This pic was taken at his favourite hangout, the river, just 3 days before we lost him. He must have been suffering then but so stoic was our boy , he was never one to complain. We miss him terribly.

Boy Debbie, what a beauty! I can see in his eyes what a great temperment he must have had. He looks very similar to my Bingo. I'm sure you miss him very much, and no our homes are never quite the same without them. We recently lost my dad's boxer, Kayci, and the world just doesn't seem complete without knowing she is in it.

From what you say about Knight, I almost wish I had known him! There is something special about a big, gentle boy boxer. That's why I love Bingo so much. I'm so glad Knight had such a long life, I would be so grateful if Bingo stayed around that long! (of course I already told him he is going to live to be the first boxer that will get to age 103!!!! hehe) I am still amazed that Knight didn't have any grey on him. And I'm sure if he was suffering when you took that picture that your love for him made it bearable. And no, they don't complain, a lesson to be learned from them huh! Thanks so much for sharing.

Debbie, Knight was beautiful. Thank you for sharing. To add to the topic of discussion, I thought our boy was just out there with his choices of typically "non edible" things. I have laughed so much reading--thanks everyone! What wonderful fur babies we have!!! Our little pickle loves ice too--he is there when the freezer is opened and he always gets several cubes in his water all during the day. He also has the "unbearable thing for me" of finding the stray cats (that our neighbors pay just enough attention to, to keep them alive)--poop! I won't even go any further here because I get all worked up. To answer someone who wrote earlier--can it harm them? No shots, eating who knows what, etc. I don't even want to think about it being the over protective mama that I am! Anyway, he has eaten several of my scrunchies--he adores them. He has eaten the ace bandage wrapping combined with other wound wrap that was covering the pins in his legs and managed to keep it down for two days and then brought it back up again. I don't know how seeing how he ate and did all of his business just fine. I was waiting for it to come out the other way! And he also loves to get into our bathroom trash can and I wont even say what he has eaten from there. Not a nice sight in the yard for me when it is eliminated I must say.

I am remodeling my house and one day, I was caulking a joint. I was wiping the excess on a piece of cardboard and the phone rang. When I came back, Grace looked like she was eating something and when I saw her tongue, I freaked out. It was completely white with caulk! I scraped it off and called poison control. Luckily, she didn't eat enough to warrant a trip to the vet. The girl on the line said my biggest worry would be "loose bowels" and maybe an upset tummy. But, Grace must have an iron stomach because it didn't phase her at all.
She gets in the bathroom trash (sick!) if I am not careful.
She once at an entire pair of panty hose. They came out all wadded up, so thank goodness, I didn't have to pull them out.
She loves ice! I have heard this might be an iron deficiency. Does anyone know if there is any truth that?

I was taking KOBi for a walk one day and he stopped to use the bathroom. I was scared when I saw a lot of pink in his poop. At first I thought maybe he was loosing his insides or something, but it turned out to be one of my daughters hair scrunchies!! I try to keep things off the floor, but he finds stuff and eats it anyways. At least I know that I'm not alone!!!nonoicon
