I am so sorry to hear about the heart ache you are going through and if I were in a different position I would say he could come here and stay with us. Pretty far away, I know. I want to tell you thank you for posting your story though because we live in a manufactured home park and have only a verbal agreement for Freya. She is verbally grandfathered in (although she still meets the size qualifications) since we had a boxer before her but we are only supposed to have one dog and we have the Lhasa on the lease. I am going to the office on Monday and getting the okay in writing. So while it is not much help in your situation, thanks for giving me a heads-up on the nightmare these things can be.

Oh geez Megan I dont know where I've been lately to have missed this thread. I am so sorry that this all happened. I hope you got somewhere today on the whole deal. Lucky is a cutie and way too young to have to go thru all the pain and suffering of missing his mom and dad every day for the next 5months. Hope you found something out today! You guys are in our thoughts and prayers that this all works out for your sake.

Megan I am very glad to hear you are contacting the local media. You need to be as persistent as you can. Have your friends and family call them about the same story too. Do you know of anyone else in the apt. complex that would rally behind you on this?

Oh man, that is so awful you're going through this. I completely agree with the advice of going public on how the apartment complex regional management is treating you. I am serious when I say that it REALLY is important you stand up for yourself. So many people don't...but the ones who do, are the ones who make a difference.... and as Gandhi once said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
I would absolutely go to the media and have your lawyer send a letter, etc.

Well, the photo shoot went splendidly! Lucky was SOO well behaved. We got some great family shots, so we will use that for the card exchange.

Lucky seems to be doing really well at DBF's parents house. He is acting happy, eating, playing, sleeping, so it is a small relief to know that he isn't freaking out. We had him with us all day at my parents house yesterday for the photos, and he was great. Just hung out and cuddled, and slept a lot.

Unfortunately my parents said no to moving in with them, but I sort of expected that. They are getting their house ready to sell, and having us and a puppy there would not help things. They did say we can come over whenever we want and bring Lucky.

We are going to contact the management company again Monday, and get to the regional manager, or the person above that. We are going to appeal to them again, and if they say no, let them know that we are going to pursue this in other avenues. We want to try to negotiate with them a little more before we go to the media.

I really want to say Thank You again to everyone who has offered a home for Lucky and all of the advice. It really keeps me going logging on here everyday and seeing everyone's words of encouragement.

Megan, keep it up! Go to the regional manager and let them know that you are not going to take this sitting down. Do whatever you can to keep your baby with you. Layla went out with hubby for the afternoon today and I missed her SO much. I thought about you and not having Lucky around for 5 months! I hope that you have lots of luck tomorrow and that they make an exception in your case especially since its only 5 more months. And if they do okay it, make sure to get it in writing. Let us know!

I am so sorry to hear what a horrendous time you are having! I have an idea though...These are obviously not 'pet people' or very concerned about how serious of an emotional issue this is for you. Why not print out all of these responses and give them to them. It would certainly be a way to let them know this is unacceptable and I especially think the legal ramifications of a verbal agreement need to be addressed. Perhaps contacting a local attorney just for some advice could help.

Well, we were all gung ho to get ahold of the management company today, but then I lost my job first thing this morning. Things just keep getting better!!! I swear I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. DBF is going to try to get in touch with the regional manager. <sigh> Of course if I don't find a job ASAP, it won't matter....we will be living in the car with Lucky!
