We have to give Lucky away!!!

I can't stop crying. Our apartment complex decided that all dogs over 15 pounds have to be out by today. They told us Tuesday. For every day after today that we have him, it is a 50$ fine. We had a verbal agreement that Lucky was OK to stay here until our lease is up (the end of March), but unfortunately, nothing in writing. We have appealed to everyone, offered more money, pet rent, deposits, but nothing. He has to go.

We are taking him to DBF's Mom's house tonight. We are waiting to see if the management company will allow us to transfer the lease to another of their properties that allows larger dogs but it doesn't look good at this point. He will go to his grandma's house tonight, and we will begin looking for another place to live.

We can't break our lease, it will affect our credit too much. So, we have to find another place to live for 5 months until the house is built that will allows dogs. So, we have to pay for rent at two places, and I don't know how we are going to do it, along with two car payments, insurance payments, etc.

I am absolutely miserable and can't bear the thought of Lucky being away from me. Im sorry, I just need to vent.

Bless you for what you're going through.
I had something similar happen and found an angel in my neighborhood. Someone through our local boxer club agreed to "babysit" my dog until my lease expired then I too moved into a house. It was a little longert than your situation, but it worked out so well. Check around for temporary housing for Lucky before you even consider giving your baby up.

There are so many people out there who will foster an animal for the short term especially if they hear your situation.

Call your humane society or boxer club and try to track someone CLOSE to you down that may be able to help you out.

Oh, Megan I feel sick reading this. There's got be something you can do? Have you asked your mom or hubby's mom or your best friend or a co-worker or your favorite vet tech or......or.... to keep Lucky until March and then you can get Lucky back?

I hope you can figure something out. I feel so bad for you and Lucky :( I'll keep thinking of ideas..

Maybe we can get someone from BW that lives near you to dogsit? It'd be cheaper to pay them than to find a new place and you know he'd be in great hands and you would be close to Lucky.

Does your lease allow for you to find someone to sublet your place until the lease actually expires? Meaning you find someone they approve of to fill your shoes and you get to move out to a new place??? That would probably be your best bet. We have two rentals and the lease says something about having the right to change the lease in any part with out notice. Personally I think it's a stupid thing to have in there unless youre going to allow for the tenant to leave if the rule affects them in a bad way. We would never do that to anyone though. OMG, Megan! I am so sorry. Put him on a plane and he can stay with me until this horrible ordeal is over. Oh, I wish I was closer. I hope some wonderful BW member in your area can help you. I would grovel to any and everyone I know. Somebodies gotta help. Keep us updated and let us know if there is anything we can do for you. I will keep my fingers and paws crossed for you.

Megan,I'm just sick for you! I wish I were closer,I'd help in a heartbeat!! My question,though,is ,how can they only give you basicaly 2-3 days notice.Something doesn't sound right here. Did the management company put anything out in writing? There has to be a way to fight this to keep Lucky with you.
I'm saying all the prayers I can for a good outcome,or that somebody can help out!!!!!
