I'm with everyone else. Make this as public as you can and especially the way you were notified and the short notice. Bet they don't like the bad publicity and maybe they would work out something with you. It can't hurt to at least push the issue, if you have found someone to help with Lucky for the time being.

One of the news stations here does human interest stories like that all the time and gets really good results/action form the offending party.

I have been reading this all along. I just want to say This is tooo much!! I can't believe they expect people to give up their pets. The feeling of being stuck is awful.

I would call the Omaha World Herald or the TV stations there. They are always doing these kind of stories. I use to live in Omaha and now I am 100 miles north of you. If I can help let me know. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

You guys are right, it is too much. I woke up this morning in a horrible mood and immediately started crying. It is so awful to wake up to an empty apartment.

I think we are going to pursue the avenue of contacting the local media. Channel 7 does a thing called "7 Can Help" where they do human interest stories. I think contacting the local paper is a great idea too.

Thank you so much for the offer of talking to the lawyers in your office. We will take any help we can get. We definitely have learned our lesson about verbal contracts. The lease says nothing about the size of an animal, or having 3 days to get rid of them or pay a 50$ fine, but it DOES have a small disclaimer saying all animals must have prior approval from management in writing. We didn't know that, and thought verbal was ok.Lesson learned the extremely hard way.

I am focusing on having a fun "photo shoot" today for your Christmas pictures for the card exchange, but tonight or tomorrow I am going to start contacting the media.

You have every right to be angry and I'm glad you're going to stand up for yourself and for Lucky!
I didn't realize Lucky was still so young - this is critical training and bonding time in a dog's life too and neither of you should be denied that.
