Boxer Pal
Hello!

Recently, I have done my research on boxer breeders and have looked for responsible breeders in the UT area. I have contacted breeders I have found on the internet, the classifieds, and through even the local boxer club, but I have yet to confirm a puppy!

I would just like a companion puppy for Christmas time!
Where else can I look for my future furry friend?

Any help or suggestions appreciated!

Thank you!

To find a good breeder more than likely you will have to give up the dream of having a puppy for Christmas. Reputable breeders do not like to have litters around that time of the year because of those people that think a puppy is sooo sweet as a gift from Santa and then up at the shelter a few months later. You may need to look at spring time. I'm not sure why you haven't come across a good breeder though if you have gone through your local boxer club. Good luck

First off, here is a list of breeders that do the appropriate health testing. Please note that this is the only place where breeders can be mentioned.

Now to answer your question about where else you can look, you could try checking out some dog shows in your area. This is a great place where you chat with breeders to get some more info which might help.

I personally would stay away from the classifieds. Reputable breeders don't use this method to 'advertise' their litters, there's no need for them to do so. If you do start to communicate with someone who has advertised a litter in the classifieds, please make sure that they're not just backyard breeders out to make a quick buck. Make sure you ask them questions and that their dogs are happy, healthy, and well cared for.

As already mentioned, most reputable breeders try not to plan litters around Christmas time. Why is it so important that you get your puppy around Christmas time??
