My poor baby had surgery yesterday to remove his undescended testicle (his other was removed also). He went in at 8:00 and i was allowed to pick him up at 5:00. We were not allowed to give him any food or water until this morning. He is soooooooo sad. He is 6 1/2 months old. We kept everything quiet for him last night and he slept. This morning, he wouldn't get up. I put his food out and he didn't move. I ended up hand feeding him, and he ate everything. He has not drank anything yet though. I did give him some crushed ice and he ate probably 1 crushed cube than didn't want anymore. He did go out and pee, but than came in and stood behind the dining room table with his head hung low. he wouldn't move. i tried to coax him back to his blanket but no luck. Than I waited real quiet to see if he would lay down, but no. He loves to sleep on the couch, so I ended up picking him up and putting him on the couch. He just looks so sad and unhappy. Should the vet have given him some pain medication? Since this was not a simple neutering, should I call the vet and ask for something? He must be in pain? I mean it was abdominal surgery. My heart is breaking for him, but I don't know what to do. I know he needs rest, but he just looks so miserable. how long will he be like this?
Any advise would be helpful.
Thanks
