Tummy Troubles for Bridget today :(

Bridget is THRILLED that so many of her boxer buddies are wishing her well!! Thanks to all of you for your concern.
Last night, she was barking at me to feed her, but I wouldn't give in. I tried to encourage her to drink, but she wouldn't. She then slept all night without incident. This morning she stood by her bowl to eat, so I gave her some of the boiled rice with the chicken, without the skin, and mixed some water in that ( I had already discarded the broth figuring that it had too much fat from boiling the chicken with the skin on it). She ate everything in her bowl within seconds.
Now I am waiting to see if there is a reaction. So far so good. She fell asleep soon after eating.
I just don't understand why she isn't drinking...

That is good that she has eaten, and wanted to eat! Since it is Friday and the weekend is upon us you may want to call the vet about her not wanting to drink anything. I don't know about your area but here most vets are only open 1/2day Saturday and not at all on Sunday, except the ER of course.

Boil some chicken with out the skin and cool the broth and try give her that.I do that for Gauge sometimes. He drinks it up fast!
Good to hear that Bridget is hungry and has taken some food! I agree with Christy, if she is still not drinking, a call to the vet to let them know, is a good idea. She's getting a little liquid with her food, but it may not be enough overall. Please keep us posted. More healing vibes going out to your baby girl.

Well, Bridget had another bowl of her chicken and rice, but this time I put about 1/2 cup or more of water in it, so it was like soup. She lapped all of it up in no time. I don't know how she will go back to dry food, since I've never seen her eating like this before. It usually takes her about a half hour to eat a cup of dry food.
I've seen her peeing outside, so it looks like she is okay and not dehydrated.
I did speak to the vet and he just said to keep water available to her at all times, which I do, and he feels she will come around and drink when ready.
I'll still keep an eye on her though.

Glad to hear she is doing good. You might want to add warm water to all of her meals from now on. I'm sure you are aware of bloat and that was the first thing I was thinking when you said her belly was full of gas. I've added warm water to Oskar's food since day one as per my breeders recommendation. It makes sort of a gravy and he loves it. The water expands the food before it gets into the stomach so belly aches and the risk for bloat is deminished.
